Default Jol rues Jenas miss

Quote:
Martin Jol was left to rue a horrendous miss by Jermaine Jenas after watching his side go down to a 3-0 defeat at Liverpool.

The England midfielder missed an open goal with the scores level, before Liverpool swept up the field seconds later and opened the scoring through Mark Gonzalez.

Spurs' miserable start to the season has been characterised by such misses and their Dutch tactician admits that they will not improve until they learn to finish sides off.

"It is the same story. We created a lot of chances, should have been ahead before they scored, and then lost our concentration and composure in defence," lamented Jol.

"We just didn't keep our heads at the right time. In that first half we could have been ahead.

"Ledley King, Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane all had chances.

"Then in the second period Jenas misses like that. Yes, he should have scored and it should have been a goal but it is a familiar story for us at the moment."

Jenas is the worst player at Spurs at the moment. He gives the ball away far too often, rarely makes a decent tackle and his use of the ball when he does have it is laughable. He is a liability and needs to be offloaded in January if Spurs are to suceed this season.

How many other Spurs players ran the length of the field to offer Davids some support?

Bellamy are not thinking straight at the moment. He should be more patience and think to much on impressing the fans. The most important is to win and not to get impressed by one player.Kuyt are doing well than and puts Bellamy running in his shadow.I don't think Bellamy enjoying that.Season is long. With more patience in his play he will get his breakthrough in the Liverpool shirt. If he fancy the club so much he should be carrie about what's best for the team than you can play with lower shoulders. You don't miss chances like Bellamy and Jenas did if they had believe in themselves.I think the self-confidence is just not right there at the moment.
