Default Spurs Agree Striker Signing

Tottenham have agreed terms with Derby to sign Polish international striker Grzegorz Rasiak.

The 26-year-old, who has been capped 20 times by Poland, scored 17 goals for County last season as he helped the Rams reach the play-offs.

Spurs coach Martin Jol told the club's website: "Rasiak is a tall target man, a hard working, honest player with a good goal scoring record.

"He is a regular in the Polish side I believe he will do well for us."

Wolves had been keen to sign Rasiak and the Rams had agreed a fee, thought to be £2.25m, but the Polish striker was unable to agree personal terms.

Sunderland also expressed an interest in Rasiak earlier in the summer.

Well that explains why he couldnt agree on personal terms..we cant compete with Premiership teams

Although its a bit sad that someone would rather go to a club they have no chance of playing for, and might not even make the bench

not so... He's bound to get the 4 games that Mido's banned and TBH, if he is as good as is suggested he might even nick the stroppy, dirty idiots place... You can probably guess that I don't rate Mido...

got this from a derby message board.

Quote:
Well done the board. They have just succeded in selling one of the best players we have had in years. Certainly one who would have scored at least 20 goals a season. They also succeded in selling him just before the deadline leaving us no chance of bringing anyone else in. Really good planning. So now they have £2M what now. Murdo McKay to leave? So thats the end of any decent negotiations to bring in anyone decent on loan. Phil Brown must also be sick at loosing his best player. I'm sick as a season ticket holder with an excellant prospect of playing Forest in the 1st division next season. A suggestion to the board (if its not already planned) Put the club in receivaship, wipe out the debt, get docked 14 points (we'er going down anyway, sell the club (now without debt), make a tidy profit on your £3 investment and get out. This will then leave us, the true supporters to get on with trying to reserrect a once great club

I dont think Raziak will get many chances...Defoe,Keane and Mido are class-strikers..He shouldn´t be able to take their places!

a good post from the above derby supporter, but it leaves out the one thing that matters....the player was never going to be happy playing for the club knowing he could be playing in the premiership.
