Default King: We Are good Enough Now

TOTTENHAM captain Ledley King reckons boss Martin Jol’s new signings have put European qualification firmly on the horizon.

Tom Huddlestone, 18, Aaron Lennon, 18, Wayne Routledge, 20, and Finn Teemu Tainio, 25, all joined Spurs this summer.

King said: “We’ve said over the past few seasons we had a good enough squad to make it into Europe but not done that.

“But there’s a real feeling that we’ve now got something special here.

“After going close to a UEFA Cup spot last season, we’re looking to actually make it this year.”

they have so much young talent.
jol is the perfect guy to do stuff with spurs....i think they may have a season or so to wait yet.

perhaps they could raise king's profile then sell him off for big money....by that point dawson/davenport etc would be ready.

On the point of Davenport, from what I've seen of him he looks like a shocking purchase. I'd be surprised is he ever holds down a regular first-team place.

I think we do look strong, though. In my opinion, what we might be lacking perhaps is a strong left winger. Reid could turn out to be amazing, but I'm not too sure and Lennon is probably too young, for now. Ziegler can play there, but I doubt whetherhe is ready either. Jol seems to agree with me too as he WAS looking to sign Downing.

I'm also a bit suspect of Edman at left back and think we could do with an internationally known centre half and a skillful, offensive central midfielder.

I definately think a top six spot is a realistic expectation this year, though.

i think a lot of that depends on how well newcastle spend the 20 mill they have...if they get a centre back/strike/left back/winger/centre back like they are saying they will...then they might be too strong.

also if everton can continue buying well and moyes works his magic again it might delay spurs a year or two.
