Lennon a Spurs player
Official. From the official site:
The Club is delighted to announce that we have agreed a deal with Leeds United to sign Aaron Lennon, subject to a medical and personal terms.
Aged 18, he made 27 appearances including 19 starts for Leeds in the Coca-Cola Championship last season.
We played a small part in Lennon creating history in August, 2003, when he became the youngest Premiership player ever, after coming off the bench for Leeds at White Hart Lane aged 16 years and 129 days old.
Born in Chapletown, Leeds, Lennon came through the Academy system at Elland Road and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year last season.
More details to follow soon.

Good signing, I wonder if he'll go straight into the first team.

Much will depend on the pre season games I think. He'll get his chance then so he needs to make the most of it.
Can't help thinking we need an injection of experienced players though.

Good signing for the future, but not yet any kind of finished article for a regular first team place.
Lennon can run past people with ease, but he lacks the cutting edge needed in the prem, but at only 18 he has time on his side, and he now has Jol and our other backroom staff behind him. Leeds fans that i have spoken too on another forum has also indicated he has a bit of an attitude problem too, thinks he is no1, too big for his boots etc etc.

Looks a good prospect for the future. Seems you are recruiting the best young prospects in the country!
Dawson, Huddlestone and now possibly Lennon.
Plus those two young Icelandic (i think) players and King Robinson Defoe Carrick and Reid.
Seems like a bright future for you!!

Yeah, Spurs are doing the right thing, I think with youth. But I've seen it go horribly wrong before, with Leeds and Newcastle in particular.
If we could get two more veterans in though, a proven striker and an old midfielder who understnads chances will be limitted then I would be pleased with that.
Naybet seems to be doing well helping the youngsters in defence come along and we need a bit more of it.

Naybet is set to carry on for another season with us, this is indeed an advantage, as we do need an old head at the back. Although i do think King and Dawson might well be the preffered partnership.
I also agree that we need an experienced midfeilder, not someone who is past his best though, but someone who is at the top of his game, 27-31 age range. Tainio is 26 and he is set to join at the beginning of July, Brown is the only midfeilder we have over the age of 28.
And apart from Routelidge i cant see who we might sign, Lennon came as a surprise tbh, i heard no rumours of that deal untill the official website declared it. And that site is the only site i will trust, its nice to read and post the rumours, but thats what they usually are, just rumours.

He wont get in your 1st team not a chance. He'll play the odd Cup game and Sub appearence i rekon. But Spurs are making a wonderful team for the future. They stil ldesperatley need that injection of Expereince. When they are losing or when the fans are on their back in an iimportnant game they need a old driving force to inspire them,to look up to and to raise their game

agreed about the experience thing. Youth alone won't take us forward. Wonder who's on the nearly shopping list?
these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
D'Alessandro
Jenas
Niang (gone elsewhere)
Davids
Coppola
MVB (gone elsewhere)
Vieiri
Wilhelmsson
Riquelme (gone elsewhere)
Sneijder
De Ridder
Benyaoun
Malbranque
Bridge
and
Rosiçky

Malbranque would be perfect, premiership experience but i think he could do better then spurs (no offence). He is good enough for teams like dippers and united.

Malbranque isnt good enough 4 the likes of Man U, as he's hot and cold-like that Gronkjear gizza who used to play 4 CSKA London. [
