#9 Markus Rosenberg
Quote:
Bundesliga leaders Werder Bremen are reportedly set to sign Ajax striker Markus Rosenberg.
Just a day after learning that their Croatian international Ivan Klasnic will be sidelined for around two months with a kidney problem, Bild reports that Werder are looking to bring Rosenberg to the Weserstadion.
The newspaper claims that Rosenberg’s agent Martin Dahlin has been involved in talks with Bremen bosses this week and that the 24-year-old Swedish international is likely to cost Werder around €4million.
Meanwhile, Bremen sport director Klaus Allofs has revealed that the club are to offer Klasnic a contract extension.
His current deal expires at the end of the season, but Allofs expressed his belief that a new deal would give the player security as he recovers from his kidney operation.

Quote:
Werder Bremen have concluded a €2.5m deal to bring Ajax striker Markus Rosenberg to the club.
Sweden international Rosenberg, 24, has struggled at the Eredivisie outfit since signing from Malmo in 2005 for 5.3m euros.
Rosenberg's opportunities in attack nosedived after the transfer a year ago of Klaas Jan Huntelaar, and the latter's subsequent success in Amsterdam.
Current coach Henk ten Cate has played him out of position on the wing this season, and he was not even picked in the squad for the first games of 2007.
That prompted a move from the Bundesliga leaders.
Ajax are second in the league table, but 11 points behind leaders PSV.

Iwth Klose doubtful, Klasnic injured, Zidan gone, it's likely that he'll play.
Only Hunt and H.Almeida are fit
