Stojkovic está prestes a virar uma nova página na sua carreira, tendo a Premier League inglesa como destino mais provável, mais em concreto o Everton. A equipa orientada por David Moyes já apresentou uma proposta aos leões para a cedência, por empréstimo, de "Stoi" por uma temporada, ficando o emblema de Liverpool com a opção de compra do passe por valores entre os 2,5 e os três milhões de euros. As diferenças, porém, não inibiram o técnico de incentivar o guarda-redes - "Boa, 'Stoica'!" -, após uma intervenção mais arrojada do guardião sérvio. O Sporting ganha assim margem para avançar para a contratação de um guarda-redes que mova concorrência a Rui Patrício.

Apparently its just paperwork that needs to be completed before the signing and that it is a season long loan, according to his agent.

He is playing for Serbia in the Olympics I think so I can't see that allowing Howard to compete.
