Confirmed? I read rumours linking him earlier.

If Sporting need someone to charge down the defence when they're tired at the end of the game with his head down doing a rhino impression then Maxi Lopez is your man. If you need a goalscorer then he isn't. He scored 1 goal at Barca in his 15 or so appearances and 3 goals in 25 odd games at Mallorca with some absolute howler misses.

He is arriving in Lisbon tomorrow it seems.

Sporting just need someone to partner Liedson, doesn't have to be a star or anything, as Liedson scores goals for him and for his team mates.

I think Maxi Lixo (= Garbage) could be good for SPorting, as they don't really have a target man..

wat do you barca fans expect? sporting isnt rich likle barca and cant buy all star players and sit others on the bench

lopez probably is a good player, but like so many other good players becomes shit at barca and sits on the bench.

barcelona is a team that either makes your career, or flushes it down the toilet

i hope if lopez comes he can fit in to the team.

Lopez is an excellent player. He did not play at barca because look who you have as striker Samuel Eto, Gudjonson, and now HENRY.. of course he won't play at all now lol... but he's a very good player.. sporting is starting to stalk up!

you're right! look at some names that couldn't get mibnutes at barca: riquelme, saviola, quaresma(not sure about that) ... maybe lopez can succed in sporting. imo, he is an excellent player.
