Dortmund monitoring Stojkovic
Quote:
German Interest In Stojkovic
Portuguese daily Record suggests Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the progress of Sporting keeper Vladimir Stojkovic...
The Serbian custodian arrived at José Alvalade nearly a year ago with the task of replacing Ricardo, who had left the club to join Spanish side Betis after serving the Lions for a period of four years.
However, Stojkovic has found playing time extremely limited at the Portuguese club, having failed to reclaim his place in the team since his mid-season injury.
His controversial statements to the press, in which he called himself "Europe's best keeper", have also contributed to the poor relations with the club's coach, Paulo Bento.
Stojkovic has already been given the green light to seek a new challenge, and it is believed that the 24-year-old shot-stopper is not short of options.
In January, Borussia Dortmund enquired the player about a move to the Bundesliga, but he opted to stay at the Lisbon-based club.
It is believed that the Schwarzgelben have renewed their interest in Stojkovic, who will feature for Serbia at the Olympic Games.
Stojkovic arrived at Sporting in July from Nantes after a six-month loan period at Vitesse, having made just nine appearances for the Lions.
