O treinador do Sporting, Fernando Santos, concedeu ao final da tarde de hoje uma entrevista à SportTV, onde abordou alguns dos principais temas da actualidade do plantel leonino.


Depois de uma análise ao percurso sportinguista nesta época e traçado o ponto de situação da discussão pelo título, Fernando Santos foi instado a comentar alguns temas relacionados com o actual plantel e a gestão do mesmo tendo em vista a preparação da próxima época.

E se em matéria de reforços o técnico verde e branco optou por não se alongar em comentários, já no que concerne ao número de jogadores com que pretende contar no plantel da próxima temporada, não deixou dúvidas: 22 no máximo. Entre os quais, se a decisão passar por si, dois terão lugar cativo: Pedro Barbosa e João Pinto.

«Se eles jogam com a assiduidade com que jogam é porque o treinador tem confiança neles. E não faria sentido prescindir dos jogadores mais utilizados», referiu Fernando Santos quando confrontado com o facto de estes dois jogadores terminarem contrato no final desta época.

Pinto is getting up there in age. So is Barbosa if I'm not mistaken.

Barbosa was supposed to retired at the end of the season, but his been one of the best players on the team

Beto's free kick was a good one but I hate it when the goalkeepers just stand there and watch the ball go in. Even if they cannot get it they should at least try. hey have more chance of saving the shot than just standing there, but credit to Marcos because he played superbly to keep the score to 1-0. Fantastic saves especially the one from Liedson on 3 minutes.

Thats how bloody well organised our leagues are, they can't even get the same number of teams in a league, we have to have byes in the cup because of the od number of teams etc etc!!!

I have heard about this guy, he is supposed to be a top prospect but I have never seen him play. I read an article on him once in a magazine who said that he was a good player for the future.

Well, it's pointless in have players to improve the team at this stage of the season since Sporting won't win the league and the cup.
