**abola.pt - «A BOLA on-line»
Used an online translator for it and from what I gather it says the clubs have held discussions.... Pini Zhavi is representing Everton in these discussions and is also Joao's agent... The fee is looking to be between 20-25 million Euros?
An added note is one of our strikers is looking to be sold in the next few days for around 13 million Euros.. possibly to help fund this?

Moutinho is a hard worker he will do just fine in the EPL. I think a team like Everton or Tottenham would be a good fit for him, a team looking to get into the top 4.

I agree... I just don't understand the desire to leave for a club like Everton. Sure you will be playing in a top league, but no CL and a slim chance to win any cups.

Very unfair comment to make.
We are one of the most successful clubs in the country.
Over the last few seasons we have shown to be consistantly the team which challenges the 'top 4' teams, every season the gap shrinks.
Last season we reached the semi finals of the league cup, and in all fairness played fantastically in the UEFA cup, except in one game.
With Everton Moutinho would get alot of playing time, and be playing alongside other technically gifted players who have blossomed at Everton, such as Arteta and Pienaar. We have Portugese connections in Nuno Valente and we are still looking to bring in Fernandes.
Now that's not to say I'm hugely confident in Everton signing him, I don't know if we could afford him..... but I can see why he would want to join us.

He's overrated and was terrible for Portugal..Let him go to England and he will end up being another Hugo Viana..Sporting fans praise this guy way too much.

Wtf!! Joao Moutinho is NOT overrated. If he wants out then so be it... I'm disappointed that Veloso & Moutinho want to leave for riches.

yes unfair on my part, i am aware everton is a club with alot of tradition and has won several cups and titles in the past.
but Im just disapointing, because Sporting has a shot at going to the next phase of the CL this season and winning the portuguese title... so I would think Moutinho would like to stay because he has a shot at glory and is the captain of the club.

I'm tired of seeing these players jumping to other clubs. I give some credit to Benfica's Nelson for turning down an opportunity of playing in England. Moutinho should stay at Sporting especially with some of the quality players they sign in the offseason. If he has a good campaign he could be signed by a bigger club.

moutinho is not overrated, he works hard and makes nice passes and plays for his teammates if you watch sporting he is like the engine of the midfield orchestrating plays both offensively and also protecting the back four with his defensive attributes.
just because he doesnt run around doing 360's, stepovers and trivelas and score alot of goals doesnt mean his bad.. its not his type of game... hes a good CM and is a pretty consistent player . The reason why some ppl call him overrated, is becaue.. truth be told he rarely produces anything particularly magical or genius in a match. he is basically what i said a consistent hard working and intelligent central midfield player.
I wouldnt say he was 'terrible' for Portugal at euro.. I thought he played fairly well but he missed a chance to score vs Germany thats just about the only negative that sticks in my memory.
