Yes, true enough, but I'd still have expected him to get more goals than he has. What about assists then? I can't find the stats.

Portuguese liga doesn't keep track of assists
pretty sure he got over 20

assists came along from the america sports, they are big in England, I don't know of anywhere else

Veloso is close to signing with Arsenal. Also rumored, Quaresma will be their as they want a creative midfielder. And with the disappointment of the season, they want to improve their attack.

I would rather see J Moutinho in the portuguese liga, is more value to Sporting then 20 million euros

Stories in Spain is that Barcelona might pay his buyout clause which is 25m euros because Sporting won't accept anything lower.

Moutinho would probably play in the midfield 3 but we already have Keita, Toure, Xavi and Iniesta so possibly it's overkill getting him.

Scolari has began to take a liking to Moutinho. Before Euro the only thing that was unsure of was the center midfield spot. There was a battle between Meireles, Veloso, and Moutinho and in the end he picked Moutinho and played him there as 1st choice the whole tournament. In terms of price, Sporting love him and he is their captain, it may sound over priced but 20 or 30 million euros may get him.
