Can you guys imagine how much better countrie like Angola, Guine, Cabo Verde would be if their guys woudn't wanna play for Portugal instead?
The way i see it, if my country wasn't good enough to colonize you and you wanted independency, now my country is not good enough for you to represent.
If i was from those countries i would see them as traitors. Playing for the former opressor.

If they are born in portugal they are portuguese of Caboverdian descent.
There is a difference. My son is Canadian of Portuguese and Indian descent, but he is not Portuguese.

— Abdel-Ghany, an Egyptian player who was one of the best in his country. He played in the World Cup of Italia 90.
— Acácio, formerly the GK of Vasco da Gama. Played in a friendly, in Newark, NJ, in June of 1987, against Benfica. Vasco, 3 – Benfica, 0.

— Milton Mendes, formerly with Vasco da Gama.
— Zé Beto, formerly with F.C. Porto; later with F.C. Porto again.
— Teixeirinha, formerly with F.C. Porto; later with V. Setúbal.
— Chico Gordo, formerly with F.C. Porto, F.C. Tirsense, S.C. Braga, and V. Setúbal.
— Abel 'Miglietti', formerly with Benfica, F.C. Porto; later with Penafiel.
— Oliveira, center-back, formerly with CUF, Marítimo, Benfica, etc.
— 'Feliz' Soares, later with V. Guimarães and Rio Ave.
— Manecas, formerly with Sporting, but never used in official games – Mário Lino coached him at Sporting.
— Niromar, later with F.C. Porto, and S.C. Braga.
— Germano, formerly with Feirense; later with S.C. Braga.
— Alemão, played in the 1970s, but was not related to the Brasilian player of the same name.
— Inguila, center-back, played with Beira Mar in the 1970, and I beleived he had 'stopped' at Benfica before joining Beira Mar.

I envy Braga. Specially his president's aproach of football. SC Braga signed a striker of a small brazilian club (so, I imagine the fee wasn't that high)...wich has enough quality to be part of the Brazilian U-20 NT, and has some top football experiance (was on loan at S. Paulo...and that club wanted to make the move permanent)!
Vitória's presindent next to Braga's is a joke...a bad one!
