Yes, Real Madrid could also go through Roma with that lineup, but the odds were much, much smaller than if they had played full team.
Come on, Barca without Messi, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Puyol, Bojan, Edmilson and Zambrotta had not been big favourites against a top Roma side.
You must understand that the small details are a big part to get success. When you get key players out + have much smaller injures in the team, its very difficult to play one of the best sides in Europe. I wrote exactly the same for the biggest paper in Norway and Pena Madridista Escandinavia before the match....and it were exactly what happened and what I predicted. The worst results for Roma in that match were draw, because they should really have a bad day if they had lost to the lineup Madrid played.
Much injures = unstability and espesially on the highest level in CL.
But since you're Cule, you are programmed to be negative to Madrid and their fans anyway, so if you don't get the point, bad for you.
