nah, its too much... our goal should be to make other members want to participate and they won't do it if they see they have no chance you see. either the way I mentioned or -5 to -10 points...

you can do whatever you like as long as I stay on top

You can make +10 point in one round. So potentially it could only them one round to catch up with someone who has been bothering to predict for like, 17 weeks.

-3 from the lowest week score? Missing 5 weeks will basically rule you out to win it

I think only counting the +/- 25 best week scores is a better solution, because that way people can easily enter later on and miss a few weeks without a big disadvantage. Plus then, if you win, you can say that you've won all points by yourself, rather than just getting points awarded.

But anyway i'm not too fussed about what you do

explain more, I don't get it. So if someone misses one week, what happens? And if someone comes in half way through, what happens?

To explain it in 1 line: You only count the 20/25 best weekscores of everyone.

some bad things about this way (counting 25 of 30 best scores):
- one can't know where he stands in the ranking untill the end
- we want to let people want to participate not only in the first 5 or 10 rounds but also in the 20th... and they won't have a chance this way.
- we might have only 20 rounds (we had 11 in the first half-season), so what do you want to take? 15?
- and wouldn't it make many participators finish with the same score? definately high probability imo.

You do it exactly the same way as we've done so far, only difference is that once someone has reached the 15 (or whatever) predictions and makes more predictions, you put his last scores in place of his worst scores (only if the score is better of course)

And they do when you put them 10 points behind the last participator? The only way to solve this is to count the avarage, like you suggested before. But also in that way you need quite a few predictions to come to a reliable table.

There are still 19 rounds to play. But if needed we could take another number, why not?

Nope, it has never happened before in Holland anyway.

Three options have been suggested:
Worst score - 1 - worst solution imo, new participators would have no chance to win when they start with so few points and even missing a few matchdays is enough to make you lose the 'title'. New players would start at 29 points (i counted it), compare that to lionels 58. And that's after only 10 matchdays.
Best 15-20 scores - Gives the people who predict every week an (imo deserved) advantage but only a small one. Only disadvantage is that you can't join too late if you want to have any chance to win (same with the above option)
Calculating the avarage score - Good solution as well imo, but what if i participate 1 week and get 12 points? I wouldn't have to predict again to win. This option also needs around 15 rounds to get a reliable outcome (imo), so comparable to the above option. Else people can wait for the easiest weeks and get a good avarage

So i don't really mind between the last 2 options

the first option but making it like that:
1) someone who misses a week, gets worst score -1.
2) the last one on the ranking must not be more than 20 points(optional. could be 30 or 15 or..) away from the first.
3) newcomers start from last place -1 point.

basically if you get far behind you can start over from -21...

better?

thats 29 points behind... not too much imo. look at the scores of those who participated in almost every week... for example R4E has 36. its normal being 29 points behind.
plus, I don't think the goal is only to finish first ... people will want to be as high as possible in the ranking, and they can do that even if they join in week 20 from 30 weeks.
