Pichichi Update:

As of Matchday 16:

Luis Fabiano - 10
Messi - 8
Raul - 8
Oliveira - 8
Guiza - 7
Rossi - 7
Kanoute - 7
Aguero - 7
Van Nistelrooy - 7
Tamudo - 7
Milito - 7
.............
.............
..............
Eto'o - 2

Luis Fabiano leads by quite a bit now. He's also got 1 in the Copa and 6 in Europe to take his tally to 17 for the season

Eto'o got 2 in his first la Liga game this season so it could be part of an excellent comeback

Pichichi Update:

As of Matchday 21:

Luis Fabiano - 13
Milito - 13

Van Nistelrooy - 12
Nihat - 11
Guiza - 11
Oliveira - 10
Tamudo - 10
Llorente - 10
Raul - 9
Aguero - 9
Messi - 8
Rossi - 8
.............
.............
..............
Henry - 6
Eto'o - 5

Milito and Ruud have gone flying up the table. Milito is holding Zaragoza up by his goals alone and many say that Ruud will win Pichichi now, he's definately in a good position to.

Despite only playing 6 games and being injured almost all season and now at the African Cup of Nations, Eto'o already has 5 goals, hopefully he can continue to catch up to the top

David Villa has 4 goals in La Liga which sums up how crap his year has been. He does have 3 in the CL tho which brings him up to 7 in all competitons. Morientes is their top scorer in La Liga with 6 goals, he also has 1 in the CL.

As of Matchday 30.2

Luis Fabiano - 22
Guiza - 17
Raul - 16
Milito - 15
Nihat - 14
Llorente - 13
Oliveira - 13
Eto'o - 12
Van Nistelrooy - 12
Aguero - 12
Edu - 12
Kanoute - 11
Villa - 10
..................
..................
Bojan - 8
Henry - 7

Eto'o only started playing since January and then went off to the African Cup of Nations but even so he wouldn't be top if we averaged things out.

Luis Fabiano has a goal every 79 minutes, Eto'o is second with a goal every 89 minutes and Bojan Krkic the 17 year old Barca player is suprisingly 5th.

Ruud has been injured for a lot of the season and hasn't scored for more than 10 games. Henry is officially crap, he's been overtaken by the 17 year old who has hardly had any minutes and David Villa who only had 4 legaue goals until recently.

Guiza has scored 2 this matchday and a hatrick last matchday which means that they are tying at the top now.

Luis Fabiano - 23
Guiza - 23

Guiza has the momentum and form but with 3 matches left who will win?

Guiza scored 2 in the last 2 which makes him over take Luis Fabiano into first place....

Guiza - 25
Luis Fabiano - 23

2 matchdays left. Might be the first Spanish Pichichi since Diego Tristan.

Dani Guiza won the Pichichi with 27 goals. The first time a Spanish player has won it since Diego Tristan in 2001.

He's got a 15m euros buyout clause. I think someone this summer will meet that.

who could have guessed Guiza will be the Pichichi in the beginning of the season??
he had an awesome season. lets not forget to credit the great assisting ability of Arrango and Ibagaza.

Really impressing. RCD Mallorca had also a very good season...almost sad they started so slow. Together with Depor the best team in Spain in the second period of La Liga..?

I hope not Guiza will be a new Javi Moreno. Hopefully he will get some time in the EC and score a goal.

Guiza reminds me of Villa but without as much all round technique. I don't think he'll ever be a starter for a club like Barca or Madrid but can fit in quite nicely at a top 4 or 5 team.
