Saturday August 25

20:00 - Real Madrid 2-1 Atletico Madrid

22:00 - Real Murcia 2-1 Zaragoza

22:00 - Sevilla 4-1 Getafe

Were the 3 results in the first night of La Liga. Aguero put Atletico ahead before Real struck back with Raul and Sneijder. Newly promoted Murcia won their first match will all 3 goals being scored by debutants, first was Mejia for Murcia, Oliveira equalised and then Baiano got the winner in the second half. Getafe were winning 1-0 after 2 minutes but got 2 men sent off in the first half and went into the half 1-0 up but with 9 men. A gamble by Laudrup didn't pay off as Sevilla scored 4 goals from crosses from their left hand side, Navas with the first, then Luis Fabiano, then Kanoute and lastly Kerzhakov. They dedicated the win to Antonio Puerta.

La Liga is so unpredictable, and that's great.

The new promoted teams won. Almeria with 3-0 against Depor in La Coruna. Murcia won against Real Zaragoza and Valladollid beat Espanyol in Barcelona.

Racing played 0-0 against Barcelona with ten men the last 20 mins. Both Messi, Ronaldinho, Henry and Eto'o played in the match. Racing is the only team not spend money this preseason, even they've lost their mainstriker.

Real won the tough Madrid derby while Sevilla smashed Getafe with 4-1 (but Getafe played nine men in the second half)

I only saw highlights of the Valencia vs Villareal game. 0-3 to Villareal with David Villa and Joaquin getting sent off.

I was surprised because last season in the Champions League commentators kept going on about Valencia's home form in the Spanish League being so amazing then they go and lose by 3...

Rossi got a goal on his debut and Matias Fernandes looked quite good... From that display they dont look like they'll miss Forlan too much...

How could I forget. Villarreal won 3-0 at Mestalla....shocking start for Valencia.

And after the first round, seven red cards have already been given out.
