we need another forward, someone more mobile who can play behind Cardozo,. Although Nuno Gomes puts in a tremendous amount of work, he is not that fast and his finishing leaves much to be desired presently.

I agree with you, Benfica should definitely try and get Joao Pereira. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind returning to his club of origin, plus the fact that he's a true Benfiquista will sit well with the fans.

Luis Filipe is just.. I don't know, he's definitely not a defender and thats all I'm going to say.

As for Nelson, he is not that bad, just has too many lapses in concentration. If he could fix that, I think he could eventually become a good option, but as of now, I don't think he can do it.

Signing Joao Pereira will not be easy though, his market value has sky rocked seeing as he has played really well in Uefa Cup for Braga and got a lot of praise from the Germans, was actually named man of the match in Germany against Werder Bremen, match in which Braga lost 3-0..

Braga would probably ask around 2/3m €, not too much considering that it's one of the main flaws in your roster.

it would be a good option but there are plenty other right backs in the bwin that are decent. + Maxi would be a great right back, which is the position he plays in the Uruguay NT.
I'll be surprised if Luis Felipe gets anymore playing time.

Nelson's not working out?
I don't mind adding Perreira but I don't find anything wrong with Nelson.
I find it disgusting that Luis Felipe gets the nod over Nelson.
Luis Felipe flat out sucks.

Maxi ? I don't think so.

All matches he's played at RB, he was shit. He doesn't have enough pace to play on the wings, if he gets someone like Quaresma, he'll be raped more than Nelson.

Uma nova era antecipada

Luís Filipe Vieira convocou ontem uma conferência para apresentar Chalana como treinador de transição e anunciar a passagem de Rui Águas para "elo de ligação com o presidente". Este segundo passo é, todavia, mais estruturante, na medida em que antecipa no calendário a entrada em vigor de uma estrutura de gestão que, na prática, já está a tomar as das decisões mais importantes. Assim será com a escolha do futuro treinador, mas já o foi na escolha de reforços como Sepsi e Halliche.

Esta mesma equipa liderada por Rui Costa e que tem em Rui Águas um elemento de extrema importância é também responsável pela contratação de Rúben Amorim - com quem o Benfica já tem um pré-acordo, conforme pode ler na última página desta edição.

Luís Filipe Vieira concedeu plenos poderes a Rui Costa para definir a política desportiva e escolher os elementos com quem vai trabalhar, em apoio ao corpo técnico e plantel. A decisão de entregar transitoriamente o comando técnico a Chalana foi, também ela, tomada em articulação com Rui Costa, com conhecimento de Rui Águas.

Neste novo modelo, a intenção é também a de aprofundar no futuro a ligação do futebol profissional à formação, lançando mais jovens jogadores no plantel profissional.

Entretanto, a possibilidade de manter Chalana até ao final da temporada continuará na ordem do dia, em função do desempenho da equipa amanhã, em Espanha, frente ao Getafe, e no domingo, frente ao Marítimo. "Dado o actual momento - e o curto espaço de tempo que falta até final do Campeonato -manda-nos e ensina-nos o passado a ter prudência e bom senso nas decisões que vamos tomar em termos de futuro", comentou o presidente do Benfica.
