José António Camacho não deverá arriscar a utilização de Rui Costa no desafio de amanhã contra o Moreirense, relativo aos quartos-de-final da Taça de Portugal.

Por não se tratar de uma partida de alto risco (... embora seja no Estádio da Luz), o treinador espanhol pretende poupar o jogador mais valioso da equipa, o que tem apresentado, durante a temporada, um rendimento mais constante, para que esteja em perfeitas condições no dérbi do próximo domingo diante do Sporting. Esta partida pode clarificar um dos objectivos do Benfica, já assumido pelo seu treinador, a "conquista" do segundo lugar, que dá acesso à Liga dos Campeões.

Rui Costa não participou na sessão de ontem, tendo efectuado apenas trabalho de recuperação no ginásio - exercícios para gerir o esforço.

Como tem sido recorrente, a preparação de Rui Costa continua a merecer uma atenção especial dos responsáveis encarnados, e é bem provável que o jogador não faça parte das contas de Camacho para a Taça de Portugal, recuperando assim melhor do esforço despendido contra o Sporting de Braga anteontem e, consequentemente, apresentando-se com outra frescura física no jogo contra os leões, o dérbi eterno, mesmo não estando em discussão o primeiro lugar. Rui Costa falhou, até ao momento, um jogo para o Campeonato (Nacional), por castigo e, foi suplente utiliza noutro (Naval).

well, no one can say he isn't giving it his all, even at 36.

If Benfica wins anything this season they can thank him 100% because he is carrying this team.

Sad that he has to retire but if he keeps this form up people are going to look back on him even greater than they do now.
