Those reports have floated around for years. He should have come back to us when Kaka moved to Milan. I agree that it is a bit too late for him to make a difference. Bu hey, you never know. Then old man might still have something left in that tank.

It's all about the money with these players. He had the opportunity to play for Benfica years ago, but he rather sit on the bench to get a bigger paycheck. He did scored a beautiful against Chelsea at the meadowlands.

more news on rui costa
Benfica told to wait for AC Milan's Rui Costa
Benfica have shelved plans of bringing AC Milan midfielder Rui Costa back to Portugal in the summer.
Rui Costa is a target for Benfica, but the Portuguese club have been informed by the player's representatives that he intends to see his Milan contract, which doesn't expire until 2007.

The key word in this article is negotiations. If he really wanted to come back to Benfica he would take a low salary and play for that old thing called. "Amor a Camisola"

No way he is my Favorite player of all-time....he needs to end his career in portugal.
He is always the player that can come in as a Sub and score a Goal which is rarity.
