i also think a two striker tandom of miccoli and mantorras would be a goood pair of players and koeman has to put some faith in mantorras because mantorras is there when we need a goal

I can tell that you are from the azores because you are 100% right on the money. One goal is not going to do it, this is not liverpool they know how to score.

Mantorras is the key..We need Mantorras to do some magic and give a little break to Gomes. Gomes is trying to hard and putting to much pressure on himself. Gomes needs to get back to his early form.

Gomes can not play on the single striker set up. He plays much better with a second striker and Nuno fallowing behind. In otherwords he needs space. Going back to Mantorras (in the last 20 minutes of the game) is the way to go. He showed this to us last year and in our last game. He has a nice touch around the net. I really feel for Montorras, I really dont think that he has been given the chances to play.

Thanks for the kind words. Ya we Azorians tend to like our soccer teams to be aggresive. I beleive that if you are going down, then go down fighting. Guns a blazing.

I'd like to see him tested in England...I don't think it will work, but it would be worth a try.

Don't see him getting a place at Spurs...could be good for Pompey though...with Pedro Mendes.

Pedro Mendes? I think Nuno Gomes will stay with Benfica. Unless, There is an offer they can't refuse.

more on Nuno Gomes and Portsmouth,

http://www.ojogo.pt/22-119/artigo560327.htm
the only striker the fail in England was Postiga, in Scotland Cadete was the best goalscorer
Nuno Gomes can easilly score 10 to 12 goals in any league

its between Portsmouth and West Ham
