game over and a hard loss to take, we had our chances, and we proved we can play
Simao scored a great goal, Petit, Leo, Nelson and Manuel Fernandes were our best players, Beto and Moreira had a bad game
could we do better, yes we can, but its not easy as say, and
we are back into european competion
and it show every team got respect for the portuguese teams

Nuno Gomes and the Italian kid up front were missing in action in my opinion.
Petit was the best player, with honorable mention to Nelson , R.Rocha,and M.Fernandes.
Simao's goal (great goal) almost saved the day for Benfica.
A great game to watch.

A afirmação imediata de Nélson na Luz reforça a convicção dos dirigentes encarnados de apostar em jovens que dêem nas vistas em clubes nacionais. Luís Filipe Vieira já garantiu que o clube está atento e deu o exemplo das “performances” de alguns jogadores do V. Guimarães
A contratação de Nélson ao Boavista marcou o regresso do Benfica à política de apostar em jogadores jovens que despontam no campeonato português em clubes de menor dimensão, a qual deu bons resultados no passado (basta recordar, entre outros, os casos de Bento, Paneira, Diamantino, Chalana e Paulo Sousa).
Os dirigentes encarnados decidiram proceder a uma inversão na estratégia de contratações, por forma a juntarem o útil ao agradável, ou seja, em vez de pagarem verbas elevadas por atletas vindos do exterior, porque não recrutarem jovens talentos nos relvados nacionais a preços mais apetecíveis?
As boas exibições de Nélson reforçaram essa convicção dos dirigentes e, anteontem, Luís Filipe Vieira garantiu que os encarnados vão continuar a estar atentos à evolução de jogadores, apontando o último adversário (V. Guimarães) como um bom exemplo.
5 “candidatos”
Tomando como ponto de partida a formação orientada por Jaime Pacheco, um nome salta desde logo à vista: Targino. Internacional nas camadas jovens, o avançado rubricou uma boa exibição na Luz coroada com 1 golo e, pese já ser um atleta interessante, tem margem de progressão, já que tem apenas 19 anos.
O médio Moreno é outro jovem com potencial, tal como Hélder Cabral, lateral-esquerdo promovido recentemente ao onze.
Alargando a análise a outras equipas, surgem nomes como Diogo Valente (Boavista), José Castro (Académica) e Davide (Sp. Braga). Um lote de jovens talentosos que estão a projectar-se para um grande.

It is a must win for Porto. If they tie or loose, it will be harder for them to win the Campeonato, and I'll not be a happy person.
