Yeah but Pedro Roma is a professional, he is Academica's captain. Dropping him was stupid IMO, specially when you consider that it was Ricardo's debut (!!!).
It doesn't really matter if he is a benfiquista, because if the coaches thought of that when selecting which players would take part in the starting line-up, half the starters of the small teams wouldn't play, because they are all benfiquista/sportinguistas/portistas.
Quaresma wouldn't play for Porto against Sporting!

I think the decision on Domingo's part had some type of clubistic logic behind it.. Like you said - Roma is the captain, he has been the starter all this time.. it made no sense.. As a coach at that level, you live and you die by the decisions you make.. there's no reason why Academica should be in the position that they are in, with the squad they have. So maybe Domingos is on a short leash.. and after yesterday, he just lost a few more links on his leash. i can't help but to think how the decision was comparable to the USWNT, although the USWNT takes on another dimension being that they were playing in a WC.

Porto lost big at Liverpool, some crazy lineup for Porto, and Jesualdo Ferreira going to be under fire
Benfica should take advantage and keep the momentum
both teams are undefeated another sellout crowd

to beat Porto we have to play like we did against AC Milan
Rui Costa
OJOGO ONLINE

No clássico com confiança
PEDRO RIBEIRO

Estamos a quatro pontos do FC Porto e podemos chegar perto deles.

Hoje, estão a pedir-me o contrário. Deixa-me contente e mais motivado."
