Manuel Fernandes assina pelo Valência
MANUEL CASACA

Excuse me but what does it mean to cap a player?

in portuguese they call it a "clause" that means for example if next year MU come and knocks on the door, they will have to pay at least 60 million euros, that't what happen to take Nani out of Sporting,
Sporting was good enough the previous season to put a clause of 30 million euros or they could had him for a lot less.

Ah thanks. So does Benfica have a clause on David Luiz, Nelson, Coentrao, Adu? if not we should because they will be quality players in time.

Guys, lets take it easy hear and reflect. Benfica have gone with youth and gone with a new coach. Man that is alot of changes and alot of work will have to be done to get this team/players playing to the level of thier capabilities.

Going young and hiring a coach with a good record with young players is the way to go. Benfica can not afford to purchase players like Nani or anders......so lets be realistic and be patient. I have alot of confidance in this coach and will go on record as saying that if by the middle of January, Porto and/or Sporting are only 5 or 6 points ahead of Benfica, then Benfica will give them a ride for their money. It will take that long to get all of these new and young players to learn a new system from a new coach and young players take longer to learn.

I dont know where we will finish this year but I do know that the fallowing year, we will be much stronger as a result of these changes. Going out and purchasing average and older players (like we have been doing) has not done anything for us. Be patient guys.

Create more chances? How about capitalizing on your chances? Benfica had numerous opportunities to put that game away and didn't take advantage of it.

They played like rookies. Bottom line. They made countless mistakes, they didn't pass efficiently, they didn't shoot efficiently, they didn't dribble efficiently, and Benfica's biggest worry was the strongest point and that was the defense. And I won't even talk about pretty boy nor mention his name any further.. He doesn't even exist to me anymore. He's reached pathetic status and shouldn't even be on the pitch any longer.. Give him ball boy duties and call it a career. I keep hearing & reading there's only minor problem.. just tighten the game up.. well I seen several in that game (that i've already mentioned) and with Benfica's structure. I have nothing against Nuno Assis, but when you start & play Nuno Assis for nealry an entire game and keep Freddy Adu (who should be starting) on the pine for an entire game I consider that a major problem. Nuno Assis?? Give me a break..
Camacho's truth was Benfica needs a lot of work.. And that pretty much sums it up.. But i'm hardly ready to hang it up. I'll give Camacho the chance to shape this team, after all it's only been 1 game under his reign.. But they have a LOT of work to do! Tightening up is an understatement. And Camacho's most recent statement reigns more truth.. "I need a forward who can score goals".

Seems that Luisao and Di Maria or on the list for Copenhaga so you might see them play vs nacional.

The stadium to be up to 40,000 Fans
