he may want out but he won't go to Porto IMO, a lot of clubs in England, Spain and Italy will be after him, Newcastle have tried to sign him in the past.

well Porto is the only team so far that has actually put a contract in front of him and he might have a say if there is a breech of contract on benficas part

Good idea, it will be off for newcastle anyway as viana is a player who likes to play behind the striker or in the middle and he will never get the chance to do that at newcastle. Also spain, portugal suits his style of football.

Default Trap is Benfica boss

Quote:
Portuguese giants Benfica have named former Italy boss Giovanni Trapattoni as their new Coach.

Trapattoni, who wasn’t offered a new deal by the Azzurri after Euro 2004 failure, will be presented to the media later today.

Reports yesterday suggested that former Inter man Alberto Zaccheroni would be handed the role but they’ve opted for Trap instead.

The veteran Italian returns to club football after four disappointing years in charge of the national side.

The 65-year-old, who replaces Jose Antonio Camacho after he left for Real Madrid, has an outstanding record.

He’s won Serie A in Italy with Juventus and Inter, as well as leading Bayern Munich to the German title in the 1990s.
