Default Sir Bobby Wants Miguel

Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson has confirmed he is keen on signing Portuguese international defender Miguel Monteiro.
The Magpies have been tracking the Benfica full back for some time as Robson looks to bolster his defence.

Robson is keen to bring in a new right back and he has been linked with moves for Leeds ace Danny Mills and Chelsea's Mario Melchiot.

The St James' Park chief admitted the club could have trouble in trying to sign Miguel as Benfica's price tag may mean the club are unable to afford him.

"Miguel would prove to be a very expensive option for us but he is one of the players I've been looking at," said Robson.

"There's no truth in the suggestion that we have already done a deal with his club. In fact there has been no contact at all.

"He is just one of several right-sided players we've been tracking for some time but we are not in a position where we need to panic or rush into buying players."

Robson will be casting his eye over a number of players at Euro 2004 but fears he may be priced out a move for Miguel.

"We do not have to do anything rash and there's no sense of urgency as far as I'm concerned," added Robson.

"We have the opportunity to observe several players we like during Euro 2004 and we'll make some decisions once the tournament is over.

"We'll be able to watch the leading contenders in action and see just how Miguel compares. But I am convinced he will be a very expensive player."

Default tiago to porto

Yep. tiago want to recind his contract on the grounds that benfica owes him 150K contes or 750K euros. Porto has offered him a contract if he gets out of his benfica one worth 30K a month roughly twice what benfica is paying him
