you don't need pace to open up benfica's defence. benfica's defence is their worst part of their game. with nobody up front their offence is that strong. honestly i think benfica should use a five mids in this game.
using petit and tiago as defencive mids to try and shore up and shaky defence that will have it hand full with inter. geovanni and roger wide as wingers. zahovic as their attacking mid and simao as your striker is probably your best chance to hold inter while still having the ability to attack.
hey frank the money from uefa cup isn't that much. for example fcp already made more money this year than they did winning the uefa cup last year.

but the money sure helps, remember last year at these time Benfica had to play at the national stadium, for a year, and only in the Superliga, because they were eliminated early in the portuguese cup
so we are 10 times over.

a little history, I still remember when Boavista eliminated Inter and two other Italian teams, out of the Uefa Cup
that's when Boavista starter to get a name, who was the coach for Boavista? Manuel Jose
his the one who build the Boavista team from the bottom, up, he coach Boavista 8 years with terms of 4 years each

correction Boavista in 90/91 did beat two italian teams, but then tied Inter away 0-0 but lost at home 1-2
in 6 different competions no portuguese team ever beat Inter
64/65 Inter beat Benfica at home 1-0 in the final of the European Cup [CL] SHAME THE FINAL WAS SCHEDULE AT MILAN
portuguese goalkeeper Costa Pereira got hurt, and because no sub's were allowed, the central defender had to play in goal for the rest of the game and Benfica with 10 players
72/73 against Setubal at home 1-0 away 0-2
90/91 Sporting at home 2-0 away 0-0
91/92 against Boavista at home 0-0 away 1-2
96-97 against Boavista at home 5-1 away 2-0
02/03 against Sporting 2-0 away 0-0
we have a total of thee tie's 2 by Sporting -0-0 and one with Boavista 0-0
WE ARE DO FOR A VICTORY, WE BEEN WAITING FOR 40 YEARS
