José Veiga, detido hoje por suspeita do crime de burla qualificada de elevado valor, poderá, no âmbito desta investigação, ser ainda indiciado por fraude fiscal. A informação foi avançada à Lusa por fonte ligada ao processo, que confirmou que "circulou dinheiro" na mudança de João Pinto do Benfica para o Sporting.

A mesma fonte confirmou que a PJ deteve hoje o ex-director-geral da SAD do Benfica, que está no Tribunal de Instrução Criminal (TIC) de Lisboa, acompanhado pelo seu advogado, João Correia, para ser ouvido sobre um alegado crime de burla qualificada quando o jogador João Pinto ingressou no Sporting no Verão de 2000, após rescindir com o Benfica.

De acordo com a mesma fonte, apesar de na altura ter constado que o negócio seria a custo zero, "circulou dinheiro à volta da transferência", cerca de cinco milhões de euros, que terão alegadamente ficado na posse de José Veiga.

João Pinto já ouvido

A fonte referiu que só José Veiga poderá esclarecer as autoridades judiciárias sobre o destino dos cinco milhões de euros, que poderão ter beneficiado outras pessoas.

Apesar de o caso remontar a 2000, a investigação é posterior e a fonte acrescentou que foi mais complicada por ter sido necessário seguir um rasto do dinheiro e, para tal, enviar uma carta rogatória para um país estrangeiro, de forma a que ali fossem feitas diligências judiciárias para localizar as verbas.

A mesma fonte referiu que não é de excluir que, no âmbito do mesmo caso, José Veiga venha a ser indiciado pelo crime de fraude fiscal, uma vez que não declarou a verba que alegadamente recebeu.

João Pinto já terá sido ouvido a propósito deste negócio, na semana passada, disse a fonte.

Veiga is a wannabee......I could never stand this guy. We have lost or haven't been able to sign players because of him. Alot of players used to have him as an agent and can't stand him.
