Benfica are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Milan's Brazilian defender Roque Junior.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Siena until the end of the season after a disastrous loan spell at Leeds earlier in the campaign.

Siena are unlikely to be able to make his move permanent at the end of his loan spell meaning he will return to Milan.

Milan are willing to let Roque Junior leave as he is well down the pecking order at Giuseppe Meazza and does not figure in their future plans.

Benfica coach Jose Antonio Camacho is keen to bolster his squad for next season and is believed to be a big fan of Roque Junior.

The much-maligned defender is likely to jump at the chance of a move to Benfica in a bid to safeguard his place in the Brazil side as he looks to kick-start his career again.

Nacional will not be an easy task. I hope to finish the season on strong notes and big victories. If Mantorras gets in the game I could also see him doing some damage. He is a hungry African and he needs to be fed goals.
