What kills me is that they have delegados at every game. They can suspend a player for something the ref didn't see, but they can't fine a club for racist remarks? That is a joke.

O FC Porto reagiu às acusações de Mantorras, que diz ter sido alvo de insultos racistas no Estádio do Dragão. Questionando o «timing» e o teor das declarações do avançado do Benfica, o clube portista diz «orgulhar-se de ter o currículo imaculado no que concerne a questões relacionadas com racismo».




«No Dragão atiraram-me moedas, chamaram-me preto e gritaram “vai para o teu país” quando fui aquecer... Não esperava que isto pudesse acontecer no futebol português», lamentou Mantorras.

Dado que o referido jogo disputou-se a 28 de Outubro, o FC Porto diz que «não se percebe como o avançado do Benfica teve de esperar duas semanas para relatar o que diz ter sucedido».

«Muito menos porque o fez em relação a um palco exemplar nesta matéria. O FC Porto pode orgulhar-se de ter um currículo imaculado no que concerne a questões relacionadas com racismo. Em 12 participações na Liga dos Campeões, nunca o nome do clube esteve associado a estes casos», pode ainda ler-se na nota divulgada através do site dos «azuis-e-brancos», que não deixa de referir que «o mesmo já não pode ser dito em relação ao Benfica», apontando os exemplos dos jogos com o Manchester United e com o Barcelona no Estádio da Luz.
