Thumbs down ALEX MCLEISH RESIGNS AS SCOTLAND'S NATIONAL COACH

ALEX MCLEISH RESIGNS AS SCOTLAND'S NATIONAL COACH

SFA President, George Peat today said: "It is with regret that I can confirm that Alex McLeish has notified the Scottish FA that he has resigned from his position as National Team Coach with immediate effect.

"I am disappointed that Alex has chosen this course of action. He is an outstanding manager who has done a fantastic job with the National Team. Everyone at the SFA and indeed Scotland fans around the world were looking forward to Alex leading us into the World Cup qualification campaign. This is why we chose to offer Alex an extended contract while we were in South Africa. "Sadly, he has chosen not to take up this offer.

"A special meeting of the SFA Board will take place tomorrow morning at 11am to discuss the current sitiation."

This is bawz!!!

Second time something like this has happened. Now this really throws our future in the air.

I thought we wouldn't cope with losing Smith though and we did.

Who is there to take over? Levein? Collins? Sir Alex???

I doubt there are any strong candidates tbh.

Im genuinely shocked that McLeish has given up what he was building with Scotland for a shite job at Birmingham. But i guess money talks.....

John Collins would be my bet for the job btw

Exactly, he seen the lure of big money from the Premiership ( I think he's a cert for Birmingham or Derby) and couldn't resist.

John Collins wouldnt be a bad appointment, anyone apart from davies.

i agree, davies would be the wrong man for the job, sir alex would be the best, if he wins the CL with Man U this season we could have him as our manager.

If not Collins Souness, McAlister are all contenders for the job,

Davies wont be able to cope with this national team.
