Question 2010?

Right I'm getting ahead of myself of course, but just say we make it to the 2010 World Cup. Who will be in the squad? We have alot of youngsters but key players like Weir, Hartley, McCulloch and Ferguson(?) may well be retired from international football by then.

The players, who played against Italy, ages come the tournament...

Gordon (27)

Hutton (25)
Naismith (31)
Weir (40)
McManus (27)

Brown (24)
McCulloch (32)
Hartley (33)
Ferguson (32)
Fletcher (26)

McFadden (27)

Players in contention?

McGregor (28)

Broadfoot (25)
Webster (28)
S. Smith (25)
S. Whittaker (25)
Caldwell (28)
M. Wilson (26)
Kennedy (26)
Wilkie (30)
McEveley (25)

K. Thomson (25)
Adam (24)
Burke (26)
L. Stevenson (22)
Pearson (27)
Teale (31)
Robson (31)

Boyd (26)
S. Naismith (23)
Riordan (27)
S. Fletcher (23)
Beattie (26)
Maloney (27)
Miller (30)
O'Connor (27)

I know I've forgotten some so please post any other players.

So who do you think or you would like to be in the squad?

i think weir is the only one we can say will not be there, the obvious replacement for him would be Kennedy

In the middle, Adam and Thompson are two who i would like to see playing for scotland, if Burke comes back strong, he could also feature, never liked Teale so dont want him there

If we needed people upfront i would like to see naismith maloney and Fletcher

When you look at that list its amazing how young some of these players will still be even though they have been well-known for some time (Brown, Naismith, Webster, Whittaker and many more)

The signs are really encouraging for our future.

But out next manager MUST be chosen carefully.
