Default Roma look to keep trio

Quote:
Roma look to keep trio
Roma have maintained that they intend to keep Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano and Vincenzo Montella at the club.

The contracts of all three players expire in the summer of 2006 but the Giallorossi are keen to tie them down to new deals.

"I want to say this for one last time, we want to keep all three players here," stated chief executive Rosella Sensi.

"We will do all that we can because we know the players very well even if they must share our desire to stay."

Some reports suggest that the club will only hand out new contracts if they can end this term in the top four.

"Their renewals are not tied to whether we qualify for the Champions’ League or not," added the President’s daughter.

"That is obviously an important objective for our club but it won’t be decisive regarding the futures of these three players."

Totti, who earlier today again stated that he was ready to stay under certain conditions, has been linked with Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are also believed to be interested in Juventus target Antonio Cassano (pictured).

While Montella has many admirers given that he is currently the Serie A top-scorer following a stunning return to form.

If we can't sign Cassano, then I hope he stays put at Roma..I doubt they'll leave though, but if Roma fail to clinch a CL spot..who knows..

10 minutes, me and a cricket bat, i think i can persuade them to stay.

In all seriousness I really hope they do all stay, they're so magical together so it makes sense to stay at la magica. Things could be looking up for next season, hopefully by then well have Chivu back, our midfield looks to be getting better and if we have those 3 upfront then we could challenge.

I've been predicting a break up for some time, but I'm not certain Totti can function any where but Roma, but we'll soon find out.

if im totally honest, i dont think montella has more than a season left at top level.

cassano can be the best in the world and they should keep him even if it means getting rid of totti(who is brilliant)

Ditto, Montella seemed shot for a long time but he's producing so if you're good enough, you're young enough.

Default Langella has Roma ambition

Quote:
Langella has Roma ambition
Cagliari’s Antonio Langella admits that he has dreams of joining Sunday’s opponents Roma in the future.

"I have revealed in the past that I would really like to sign for the Giallorossi," said the attacking midfielder.

"The city is magnificent and the stadium is unique. Plus, who wouldn’t want to play alongside players such as Francesco Totti and Vincenzo Montella?"

Langella has been a revelation in the top-flight this term, even winning international honours in last month’s friendly win over Russia.

He was strongly linked with the capital club in January and it now seems possible that a move will occur at the end of this season.

But Langella is keen to underline his commitment to the Sardinian outfit while he’s still wearing their colours.

"I’m trying not to think about the transfer market for now," he added. "I am really close to this shirt and I want to honour it until the end of the campaign."

The 27-year-old had never previously played in Serie A before this season. In fact, he’s only had two years at Serie B level and was playing regional football as recently as 1999.

He's a decent player. He came on against Juve and pushed Cagliari to grab a point.. ::gotcha::
