It's still mid July....there's plenty of time for Roma to make some signings...but ya, we're missing a few players. Brighi will probably stay, Giuly may have to stay as well. And Esposito has signed with Roma.
But, Roma are still missing the word "Depth"........again.

i blame only one thing other then the sensi's wch is apparent in our past few season transfer flops, that is our whole scouting network, and the ppl working behind a players contract.
frankly we need to fire all those dick heads and totally revamp the department.and then only then we can have progress and see the fruits fof the labor.

Hell they can sign any of us here and we'd lead the team so much better. Its really frustrating at times.
We're letting so much talent go by.Yes we're cashed strap but if we played it smart we can be competitive.

I really think Roma officials are out of their league in comparison to other top clubs transfer gurus. Either that, or they can't compete bc of the cash, probably both.

Im guessing both, but what the hell are you suppose to do with owners like the sensi family....
It sucks because they lead us on promising us a top player in due time but it never happens...all that happens is we get our hopes up, and the other teams bulk up in anticipation of roma making a big singing and then it never happens...they get stronger and we get weaker

Seriously...i'm getting pretty scared now...we have a pretty weak team as it stands now in terms on depth and even our starting 11....they need to make some changes quickly...or Roma won't get a top 4 place next season.

if we fail, spalletti will be the 1st man to leave and if he goes i see a dark time ahead of us.

Mutu is 'tempted by Roma' Monday 14 July, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fiorentina striking star Adrian Mutu is very tempted by a move to Roma, according to fellow Romanian international Cristian Chivu.
The Giallorossi are desperately looking for a striker to add to their arsenal and have been linked with a number of names, including Vincenzo Iaquinta, Antonio Di Natale and Mutu.
While Mutu’s agent insists that it would be impossible to lure the former Chelsea man away from Florence, Chivu believes that he is giving a move to the Eternal City some serious thought,
“He is very tempted by Roma,” Chivu insisted in Il Messaggero.
“He has been asking me about things and he would be a superb signing for a squad that are already very strong contenders.”
Roma are waiting for the outcome of a meeting between Mutu and the Viola to discuss a contract extension.
Fiorentina have indicated that they won’t break their self-imposed salary cap to appease Mutu, but the Gigliati are determined not to lose such a crucial component.
Reports suggest that the capital club have around £15m waiting if Mutu fails to agree a new deal at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

mutu again, holy carp where the hell did we find that kind of money.
the viola will press us hard if they were to sell him and it wont bode well to spend too much on him.

From CL (30m) and Mancini sale (10m)...Roma have the funds to buy someone...they are just playing the waiting game now.

Aldair backs Beast and Bendtner Tuesday 15 July, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ex-Roma star Aldair has urged the Giallorossi to make a move for Julio Baptista or Nicklas Bendtner.
The capital club are still waiting to make their big striker swoop in the market but have added John Arne Riise and Simone Loria for the back line.
One possible signing is Brazilian forward Julio Baptista, who is ready to leave current club Real Madrid.
“Julio Baptista is a very interesting player and could do well in the capital,” Aldair said on Centro Suono Sport.
Another name on the radar is Arsenal’s 20-year-old Danish international Bendtner, who is allegedly unsettled at the Emirates Stadium.
“Another player I like a lot is Bendtner at Arsenal, but he is still very young,” the former stopper said.
Roma seem to have given up on Adrian Mutu and Antonio Di Natale but Coach Luciano Spalletti is said to be pushing for a new striker for their ranks.
