No one will be as good as Totti...Totti isn't even a natural striker and he bangs in goals.

If they don't sign a striker....at least we have Montella back!!!!

Milan for Roman conquest? Wednesday 9 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roma are considering an approach for Russian international marksman Roman Pavlyuchenko, but Milan could hijack the deal.

The Giallorossi fell agonisingly short of the Scudetto last term and experts cited the lack of attacking options as one of the reasons they lost out to Inter.

The summer market is expected to yield a new striking star, with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Adrian Mutu having been suggested as options.

Now Roma are looking to Pavlyuchenko, who impressed for Russia at Euro 2008 and plays for homeland side Spartak Moscow.

The appeal of the 26-year-old is such that the Sensi family are said to be weighing up the merits of a £12m bid.

However, sources suggest that Milan also see Pavlyuchenko as an option as they struggle to persuade Arsenal to part with Emmanuel Adebayor.

Vice-President Adriano Galliani is insistent that he talks with the Gunners will progress, but the Russian international could be a more realistic option at half the price.

Pavlyuchenko is under contract in Moscow until 2011, but the Krasno-Belye may be resigned to losing the prolific star to the bright lights of one of Europe’s biggest Leagues.

Roma are expected to complete the sale of Brazilian forward Amantino Mancini within the next few weeks.

another link, after one by one of the other names being linked evaporated we could be more serious wth him.yes milan and all the other clubs will be looking in him too but if we get our steps right we could land him.

he looks decent and could spread out the goals.

Agent: Roma won't turn to Totò Tuesday 8 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adrian Mutu seems to be forbidden fruit for Roma, but Antonio Di Natale won’t be their consolation prize, according to the player’s agent.

Roma are looking for an attacking addition with Brazilian star Amantino Mancini likely to leave for Inter in the coming weeks.

The capital club had been keeping an eye on Fiorentina hero Mutu for months, but the Romanian’s agent has insisted that they will need to find a new target.

That man could be Azzurri ace Di Natale, who has admitted in the past that he would be happy to play for the Lupi, but his representative won’t entertain the idea.

“I still maintain that Di Natale is 100 per cent not for sale,” Bruno Carpeggiani told Teleradiostereo.

“I don’t know how these new rumours linking him with Roma keep emerging.

“Antonio is the main ace of an ambitious Udinese side and I don’t see that there is any possibility of a transfer, even if Luciano Spalletti obviously likes him.”

Di Natale was handed a contract extension on June 27 that ties him to Udinese until 2013, but the transfer rumours continue to abound.

dont know what to make of this but, seriously if we stepped up our interest on him we could get him.

Milan hijack the Suazo deal as well last year....so nothing is safe until everything is signed and delivered. Guess, Roma won't be landing Baptista or Mutu....as usual.

I think spending that much money on Di Natale would be a mistake...he's getting up there now. Roma can't afford to waste 10m for the short term.

Agent: Neves for Roma Thursday 10 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The agent of Thiago Neves, one of Brazilian football’s rising stars, has called for Roma to make an approach for the gifted hitman.

Neves is currently plying his trade at Fluminese, who were runners-up in the Copa Libertadores.

The 23-year-old has made Brazil’s Olympic squad and is attracting interest from European clubs, but representative Leo Rabello has revealed that Roma would be a dream move.

“Thiago Neves’ dream has always been to play in Italy,” he claimed on Romanews.eu.

“I have read that there is interest from Roma and it would be a very satisfying outcome for my client.

“But for the moment I haven’t had any contact with the Giallorossi directors.

“Neves is the biggest talent that there is in Brazil at the moment. He is a deep-lying forward who is scoring lots and he would cost around £10m,” he concluded.

Roma's sporting director Daniele Pradè [pictured] is looking for a new striker and have already been warned off Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale and Fiorentina star Adrian Mutu.

With Amantino Mancini on the verge of leaving for around £10m, the funds will be available for such a swoop.

from an agents point of view.this could be just a ploy for him to get the potential customers for his client.but if we are interested in him i doubt we will go too public.

I think he would be a great investment.Especially one for the future. We've been buying old guys like Loria,Riise....that back up keeper whom i forget his name...

Thiago would do very well with our brazilian teammates imo.And he is hot property.

Get familiar with him. He's going to be a star in Beijing Olympics.

TalkSoccer Media Player

I hope we do get him.He seems cocky though...then again who isnt on our team

Roma have to start investing in the future at some point...we have a good youth system, but we're not going to create superstars every year. If they have a chance to get a quality young player...make the investment and it will pay off. But, £10m is a bit expensive.

WTF are we doing.Dessena just signed for Samp.Cigarini is most likely going to Atalanta...Are we going to do anything to help out a midfield that plays with 3 CM's?I mean all we have for back up right now is Brighi and he might leave.Hell I could see Desena playing and starting ahead of Pizarro...we'd add power height and physique to this small squad. Not to mention he is creative, not as much but he and Aquilani can run the team like a well oiled fucking machine.

This is really pissing me off.Enough of the Riise's and the Baptista's lets get some youth who are talented...Leaving Dessena to Samp really is infuriating.

Swoop in for Boriello...Pick up Dessena and Somehow get Vargas was my 3 trasnfer targets...but no...fucking useless.
