Totti/Panucci were never captains of Italy...but they were leaders for Italy in a mature role as Roma.

Roma eyeing Lyon fullback Reveillere
tribalfooball.com - August 07, 2007

Olympique Lyon wing-back Anthony Reveillere is interesting Roma.
Roma chiefs are considering the France international as an alternative to Real Madrid fullback Cicinho.

Fabrice Picot, the agent of Reveillere, said: "Roma were very keen last year, but the price was too expensive.

"He's now happy at Lyon and I do not know if there's been contact between the two clubs."

Roma prepare Moretti bid Tuesday 7 August, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roma are lining up a bid for Valencia defender Emiliano Moretti, the player’s agent confirmed today.

The 26-year-old joined the Spanish club in 2004 and appeared in 23 Liga matches last season, attracting the interest of the capital club.

“Emiliano is definitely part of Roma’s plans and is highly considered by Coach Luciano Spalletti,” said the player’s brother and agent Andrea Moretti to Radio Radio.

“He is certainly not on a plane towards Italy, but a move to the Giallorossi is an option that every once in a while is mentioned.

“We are obviously flattered by Roma’s interest, they are an important club and it is Emiliano’s hometown. I know there have been conversations between the two sides in the past.”

Valencia currently value Moretti at £6.5m and his agent doesn’t believe the Spanish side will agree to let him leave on a loan deal.

“For the time being it isn’t easy to sign players who appear in La Liga. Emiliano is worth £6.5m and Valencia will only sell him on a permanent basis,” explained Moretti.

“Also, my brother certainly doesn’t want to run away from Valencia, he likes it there and is very content since his arrival three years ago.”

Ex-Roma fullback Candela keeping options open
tribalfooball.com - August 09, 2007

Former Roma fullback Vincent Candela is weighing up his future after coming off contract at relegated Messina.
Candela has reportedly already turned down advances from Reggina, Torino and Red Star Belgrade and is currently on holiday near Rome.

"I still have a passion for football, but we will have to wait until the end of August to know what comes next," he told L'Equipe.

"I'm looking for an interesting challenge at a club where I can enjoy myself.

"I have great affection for Italy, but if that offer comes from abroad I may accept."

Roma to get Del Horno?
Friday 24 August, 2007
Roma are reportedly closing in on Valencia left-back Asier Del Horno, despite FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti’s attempts to derail the move.

The Giallorossi sold star defender Cristian Chivu to Inter earlier in the summer, but have set about replacing him with the additions of Brazilian pair Juan and Cicinho.

Ex-Chelsea man Del Horno has fallen out of favour at the Mestalla and Los Che boss Quique Sanchez Flores has put him on the transfer list as the 26-year-old doesn’t feature in his future plans.

Rumours in Spain suggest that Del Horno’s discussions with the capital club are already at an advanced stage and renowned middleman Bronzetti confirms this is the case, but stresses that he has reservations.

“I have no doubts on the football side of things,” he explained. “But I warned Roma not to proceed as Del Horno’s personality isn’t compatable with the Roman atmosphere.”
