Hmm...sounds like it's just admiration right now. But could be possible. I think Roma will keep Vucinic now though. Although, Bojinov is a good player.

Roma are set to fight Monaco for the signature of Barcelona’s French winger Ludovic Giuly, according to reports in Spain.

Giuly has found himself sliding down the pecking order at the Nou Camp in recent months and it now appears that the 31-year-old is keen to find a new employer.

Spanish newspaper Sport reports that Roma have tabelled an offer of around £2m for the diminutive star, but the Spanish giants are said to be unwilling to reduce their £3.4m asking price.

“What Barca are asking for is too much,” lamented Roma sporting director Daniele Prade’. “Our offer for Giuly is a reasonable one that has been adapted to the current trends of the market."

Although the man nicknamed ‘The Magic Imp’ has been told he doesn’t feature in Frank Rijkaard’s plans, he appears reluctant to take a pay cut with a new club.

“Another important factor is that his contract demands are too high,” Prade’ confirmed.

It remains to be seen whether Monaco will be more generous in their bid to lure Giuly back to his old stomping ground.

wow, he would be good buy for us and gives our flank more depth and options.also allows us to play 2 up-front.he can at least help us in the cl and for at least 2 season he can be competitive, enough time for us either to train or buy a replacement.

but then again the price, as usual is a problem for us.

With Mancini, Taddei and Esposito already at the club I don't really see the need for someone like Giuly who'll most likely demand a regular place in the starting lineup.

You need an out-and-out striker.

Roma replaced Wilhelmsson with Esposito and Spalletti said that they want to replace Tavano as well. Maybe Giuly will accept a sub role and come to Rome.

That seems to be the most likely solution for picking him up...i doubt we are going to get him though...we offered almost half of what they want for him, and arent willing to pay his salary!

Negotiations 101...start with a low bid...then work your way to a common ground. Roma won't pay more the 3m for him.
