Sampdoria own 100% of Quagliarella now. So any deals now will only be made through Samp.

Samp secure Quagliarella
Tuesday 19 June, 2007
Sampdoria have reached a £4m deal to buy out the remaining 50 per cent of Fabio Quagliarella’s contract from Udinese, say reports.

The Italian international, who scored a sensational brace against Lithuania earlier this month, was unable to negotiate his move to a bigger side until the two clubs could work out who owned him.

The situation was heading towards a blind auction – where both teams put their bid in a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins – but it looks as if that will no longer be necessary.

Tonight’s reports suggest that Sampdoria have agreed to hand over £4m to complete their ownership of Quagliagol.

A meeting between Blucerchiati general manager Beppe Marotta and Udinese director general Pietro Leonardi has resolved the matter.

Quagliarella spent this season at Samp, where he scored 13 Serie A goals and earned a place in Roberto Dondaoni’s Italy squad.

Once he is completely under Sampdoria’s control, they can finally begin intensive talks to sell him on to a giant.

Manchester United recently had a £10m offer rejected and, according to Quagliarella himself, have now increased their offer.

Italian clubs interested in taking on the talented striker are Juventus, Roma and Milan.

Why no mention of Roma? Stay in Italy so Donadoni has a better eye on you.
Quote:
Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella would be interested in a move to Manchester United this summer.

United reportedly made a £10million bid last month for the Italy international and Quagliarella has now revealed the Premier League champions have increased that amount.

"It seems a serious offer, they have raised it and it is an important figure," Quagliarella told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Manchester United are a big deal and if it ended up going that way, I would gladly join the Premier League.

"It is a fascinating and beautiful competition."

Quagliarella only made the move to Sampdoria last summer from Ascoli and his sporting rights are co-owned by the Genoa club and Udinese.

The 23-year-old made 35 league appearances for Sampdoria last season and netted 13 goals.

He was called up to the national team and scored his first two goals during Italy's 2-0 Euro 2008 qualifying victory over Lithuania.

The forward is under contract at Samp until 2010 and, despite interest from England, is keen to stay in Serie A and retain his place in the Italy squad.

He added: "I am really happy at Sampdoria.

"I would prefer to remain in Italy, having continuity and having the trust of (national team coach Roberto) Donadoni."

meglio per Totti

MINO FUCCILLO

Ag. Quagliarella a Centro Suono:

what the hell??just of a few rumors linking him to united his price is inflated.believe me united wont go fro him, not bcoz he is unproven or not rated or something its just 1 simple reason we already have 6 strikers and there is no sign of united selling either one of them nor loaning the out obviusly.thats more then what chelsea have i reckon.

some of the united fans say he is nothing but im not looking in the same with him.he has lots of potential and quality.the next pippo for our nt to put it in way.

he will come to roma, its just we need to hustle for him a bit

But Sampdoria will be looking at whoever offers more...we can't keep up with United in terms of cash. We're screwed!

nope, nothing on the official website and also david gill is no where near italy.its a rumor alright.and the only reason the rumor came out is bcoz the press got a leak on saha and his injuries again..man even in the off season sheshhh

thats when the quag/united story began to have life its own.but since saha is ok and will come back before the season starts not that he could make a big difference with us having another 5 players fighting for the same spot.saha injured and really love to see rooney/rossi.

the deadly duo of the future

Even then...samp want players not just money...so if they want curci and vucinic then that brings down the money they want as well...if we give them those 2 players his cash value drops from what the want to nearly half...and that we can afford
