Doni has settled in well at Roma. He's done well. Wonder whats going to happen to Curci though. Will Roma sell him to get Quag? I guess they can risk the future, if they bring in a 24 yrs old like Quag.

It's something they decide on when the deal is made. Although if you bought Sampdoria's half then he would play for you (as opposed to Udinese).

Ya, if Roma buy half of Quag...then whenever Samp set the deadline for Roma to decide whether they want to buy the other half of him, they can do so, or pass on it. But they lose the cash they put in for him.

But if they only buy half of Quag and sell Curci and Quag doesn't turn out to be the next big thing in italy...Roma would of made a huge error.

Ya but on the other had, if we get quag and he plays awesome its the best decision or team has made since totti, or if samp takes curci and he ends up being horri its the worst decision samp ever made...it works both ways...Its a risk...so is trading for any young star...but you have to take it...when the chances of him being great are high...People too chances on lebron, crosby, adu....all these young guys people took a chance on you know?

The agent of Bordeaux fullback Julien Faubert has warned Roma they must up their offer if they want to sign the defender.
Vincenzo Morabito said: "If Roma wants Faubert, they will have to increase their offer of £2.5 million up to £4-5 million at least, otherwise the player, that above all has other offers from England, will go elsewhere.

"The club is insisting on a hardline - they want to keep the player, while his will is to leave."

Drives me nuts. I wish Roma had a few more million in their bank accouns to afford the players they wanted. Wish we could go after players like Deco, Ronaldinho, etc. But at least we have our Totti where other clubs would give the world for.

Ya i agree...well if we can win major tournys we can get more money...but in order to do that we have to bulk the team...if the sensis would get some good players it would be rewarded because it ups our chances of winning the CL and making more money!

The problem is that whenever a player is available, there are like 5 or 6 clubs that submit bids and Roma are always on the outskirts looking in because they can't compete with the stronger clubs. I hope Quag comes to Roma. He's the last Serie A player available. I think Di Natale coming to Rome is over?

Oh boy...were not making any good relationships this way. Udinese put it best...they want and want and want...but get nothing in the end.

Udinese general director Pietro Leonardi was not happy after Roma admitted their interest in Fabio Quagliarella. “They need to respect our players.”

The striker, who is co-owned by Sampdoria and the Zebrette, scored 13 Serie A goals for his club this season and netted an impressive brace in the recent Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania.


Giallorossi Coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed that Quagliarella is an interesting player for Roma, who might allegedly offer to buy Sampdoria’s half of the player’s ownership.


“Roma have targeted all our players over the past two years, exception made for Morgan De Sanctis, but bought no one in the end,” Leonardi told ‘Radio Radio’.


Most recently there was a spat between the clubs over talks for Italian international Antonio Di Natale.


“We think players should be respected and there should be less talking about them, in order to avoid tension and unrealistic expectations.


“You can say that you like a footballer, it is different when you admit that you are interested in signing him. These things should be considered carefully.”


Leonardi confirmed that Quagliarella could leave this summer, but Udinese and Sampdoria do not intend to sell him off cheaply.


“He has reached an important level and is ready to leave, but we want to cash in on his departure and there is no buyer at the time being,” concluded Leonardi.


The player’s agent Silvio Pagliari declared on Thursday that Manchester United recently made a £10m bid for the Sampdoria man, who was paired with Inter and Juventus as well
