Given your current situation probably not that much.
And given that Sampdoria are after all the money they can get their hands on you're going nowhere with a deal like that.

We'll see what happens. Looks like Roma are close though and at least making a move for a striker. Hope it goes through.

If he does sign though will he be used as an out-and-out striker?
I think we might see something like this:
Totti
Quagliarella - Perrotta? - Mancini
Or something similar. Basically my point is that Quagliarella is more of a forward than a striker and may be more effective in a withdrawn role. That way Spalletti can keep Totti as the lone striker like last season.

That's similar to his recent position with Italy where he scored two goals. Taddei will sit in that scenario. I think Quagliarella can also be used as a striker as well. But it would make sense that he plays forward, then sub Quagliarella for Taddei if needed be. I'm sure Spalletti will find the most effective role for him that suits the club. But that's a very nice attacking formation you posted Joel...

-------------Totti
Mancini-----------Quagiarella
-----------Perrotta
----Pizarro-------De Rossi
Sounds amazing! Sadly I would like to see Taddie play....He's extremely clutch in the big games.

I i think we play Quag at a three quarter position...thats where he seemed to be most deadly in the luth. game.
Man at least roma is moving in the right direction for him. I think offering samp a player they want and a great GK plus some cash, might sway them more then just getting 5 mill from Man U. If we got co ownership of Quag would he play for us....how does that work?

He pretty much the last choice now...with Lucarelli and Di Natale. Our main targets have been taken from us. Suazo and Iaquinta.
|
we can only blame or owners for that.at some point they have to understand that investment is needed if we are to be force in serie a'.i just wish we were a bit more serious on the targets that has slipped from us.making a concrete offer and so on.

If they agree with the co-own deal and Roma sends Vucinic and Curci to Sampdoria, it will be similar to the Pizarro deal. Where Roma may have an option to buy the remaining of his rights. Whatever that ends up being.

I guess they are contemplating whether they want to trade Curci. Giving up another great goalie like they did with Amelia.

Way too much I feel. Almost surprising to be honest.
I hope he stays at Doria for one more season. Not that I don't believe in United's efforts to sign him are legit, but I question their ability to judge talent, unlike an Italian team.
Why aren't Inter, Milan and Juve involved? One could say they are deep in strikers, but one could say they know that he is not ready yet.
I don't want to see another Cassano cluster fuk happen.

He may go to Unites...
Quote:
ROME (AFP) - The agent of rising Italian star Fabio Quagliarella said on Thursday the player could be heading to Manchester United if the Premiership champions confirm a bid he says they made for the 23-year-old striker a month ago.
Quaglirella, who is jointly owned by Serie A clubs Sampdoria and Udinese, scored 13 goals for Sampdoria in Serie A the season just gone.
He also netted both of Italy's goals in their 2-0 win at Lithuania last week in his first start for the Azzurri.
"One month ago Manchester United put in an offer of 10 million pounds (14.8 million euros) for Fabio," Quagliarella's agent Silvio Pagliari told Rete Sport.
"We feel Fabio is worth between 15 and 20 million euros, so if the English club's offer still stands, it is highly probable he will go abroad."
Naples-born Quagliarella began his professional career with Torino in 1999 and stayed with the Turin club for four years.
He then spent three seasons playing third division football with Florentia Viola (now know as Fiorentina) and Chieti respectively before rejoining Torino in 2004.
After that he spent a season with Ascoli before joining Sampdoria for the start of7the 2006-07 season.
