I rather not have Recoba or Vieri, rather have Montella as a sub player. At least he's familiar with Roma, but he's weak on the ball where the other two are not.
|
montella had some good times with us but if we happen to need a wind of change and maybe just looking for a quick solution recoba would fit the bill.

Recoba seems to still have the desire to score as we've seen with Inter this past month. He does look hungry. But Roma need to find a quality number two striker, then work on a third choice.

yep, currently we have lots of ppl on our squad who can fill the no3 role.we need some one who can give totti's a gun run for his money.a positive competition will benefit both parties.

If Roma play with 2 strikers up front, i don't think there will be competition. Totti will act as the feeder and the other striker will take the passes from Totti. Totti will end up with 10-15 goals if another striker comes. He will supply the balls for whoever wants to chase them!

Ya totti will end up with 10-15 but our other striker will end up with 15-20 because of tottis feed passes

^ Exactly.
I would prefer Vieri rather than Recoba if we were FORCED to make a choice...Recoba is way past his best, more than Vieri is (whom is a more intimidating figure)...
We should settle for Di Natale or Iaquinta IMO.
We dont need Vieri, Recoba or C. Doni to finish their careers with Roma...sure, they will look good out of it, but Roma's game play will suffer

Di Natale or Iaquinta would be perfect. We may have to settle on Di Natale, as Juve look to be interested in Iaquinta.

Roma move for AC Milan's Gourcuff
tribalfooball.com - May 23, 2007
Roma are moving for AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Roma intend to approach Milan next week about taking the French youngster on-loan for the new season. Roma are turning to Gourcuff after being quoted £7 million for Lille ace Mathieu Bodmer.
Along with Gourcuff, Roma management remain keen on bringing 34 year-old Atalanta midfielder Cristiano Doni back to the capital.

Milan won't loan him to Roma that's for sure.

That's what i figured...he's the future of Milan and if they were going to loan him, they would do it to a smaller club where he can play more. He won't play much at Roma.

Thankfully no quotes. And i agree, i don't want Doni, regardless of the season he is having. We need a mid 20-30 yrs old who has the legs to run constantly and who has a lesser chance of developing an injury.
