Cruz to join Roma at the end of the season?
Quote:
Inter striker Julio Cruz looks likely to move to Roma at the end of the season, according to reports in Italy.
Cruz, whose contract expires in the summer, has been waiting for the Nerazzurri to offer him a new deal after an exceptional season so far.
But with no such arrangement forthcoming, the Argentina striker will be available for nothing in six months.
Roma, who seem resigned to losing Antonio Cassano for nothing in June as the striker continues to refuse the improved terms on a new three-year-deal, are keen on compensating for the £20m signing from Bari.
Although it would hardly recoup the financial loss of Cassano, procuring the services of Cruz for free would at least help draw a line under the whole messy affair.
The Giallorossi are prepared to offer the South American £1.7m a season for four years and the in-form 31-year-old - who has just earned a recall to the Argentina squad but remains something of a San Sio super sub - is keen on the move.
Another free agent who could be on his way to the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the season is Hatem Trabelsi of Ajax.
The right-back, who will represent Tunisia at the World Cup in the summer, has attracted the interest of Juventus, Milan and Arsenal.
However, with Luciano Moggi seemingly commandeering proceedings, it appears that the Juve transfer mogul is willing to ‘allow’ the player to move to Roma, much as he is supposed to have permitted similar transfers to the capital involving Samuel Kuffour and Shabani Nonda.

He can play. Its not that bad. Still better to have Cassano, but that option is less likely.

He would be a good signing for Roma, I think Inter are making a mistake in allowing him to leave.

Dacourt reveals plans
Quote:
Olivier Dacourt has confirmed that he plans to leave Roma when his contract expires in the summer.
The former Leeds United midfielder has revealed that the Giallorossi have offered to extend his contract on the understanding that he must take a pay-cut - a compromise he is not willing to accept.
"At Roma, the officials want to extend my contract and reduce the wages," he revealed. "They did that with [Christian] Panucci and [Vincenzo] Montella. But for me, it is out of the question.
"I don’t know what I will do - I am fine here. I've had no talks so far. So I don't think I will stay."
Arsenal, Bolton and Lyon have all been touted as potential destinations should the midfielder decide to quit the Eternal City during the summer.
Dacourt also believes that he still has a chance of making the France squad for Germany 2006.
Although the 31-year-old has not featured in international football since October 2004, he is confident that he can force his way back into the reckoning.
"I will go to Germany," he declared. "Anelka came back, so there is no black list. I just mean I will do my best to be again in French team."

I've always thought of him as a good player but he hasn't played much in recent times so maybe it's time to move on.

Kuffour set for Roma exit
Quote:
Roma appear set to part company with defender Samuel Kuffour next summer.
Relations between the two parties have been strained ever since the Giallorossi refused to grant Kuffour permission to join up with the Ghanaian national team earlier this season despite the player's determination to do so.
In the subsequent Serie A match against Palermo Kuffour requested to be substituted after sustaining a thigh injury.
Kuffour has not played since amid rumours that he enjoys an uneasy relationship with coach Luciano Spalletti.
Spalletti is now believed to be ready to release the former Bayern Munich player should a suitable offer be forthcoming.

Apparently he's been screewing the club about with his injury, and there was that reported fight with montella.
However this sucks, Kuffour has been one of our best players and really helped improve us. WHy can nothing ever go right for us

This is ridiculous....quite a black mark on your clubs reputation....you have some fools in charge, you really do.
Kenyon may be a koont but at least he has some sense.

Keeper wants Roma move
Quote:
Livorno goalkeeper Marco Amelia has revealed his desire to join Roma.
The Italy international has been one of the revelations of the Serie A season and has caught the eye of Roma.
Giallorossi coach Luciano Spalletti has been impressed by Amelia's performances and is now considering a January bid.
Spalletti has not been happy with Curci and Doni - the two keepers currently at his disposal - and is aiming to tempt Amelia to Stadio Olimpico.
Amelia is receptive to Roma's overtures and confirmed his wish to sign a contract in the Eternal City in the New Year.
"I'm ready to sign a contract for life with Roma," Amelia told a Tuscan television programme.
"I feel I am ready for such an important place like this one."
But while Amelia is keen to move on during January's transfer window, Livorno are reticent about selling the shot-stopper midway through the season.

Roma keen on Vucinic
Quote:
Lecce striker Mirko Vucinic has emerged as a transfer target for Roma.
The 22-year-old is contracted to the Serie A strugglers until 2009, but after impressing this season, has attracted the interest of several top clubs.
Lecce are not prepared to sell Vucinic in January, so Roma will have to wait until next summer to make their move.
Roma are short on spending funds at the moment, but could have money available if Tottenham and Everton decide to sign Mido and Matteo Ferrari permanently.
