Mexes was always good.Although he reached world class under us imo.He just needs to get a steady work out regime in the summer though...that pisses me off that he does mistakes early in the season but rips it in the end.

Menez eyes winning start Thursday 11 September, 2008

Roma new recruit Jeremy Menez has set his heart on beginning his Giallorossi adventure with a win over Palermo.

The French starlet signed from Monaco this summer and is looking to make his mark in Serie A after lighting up Ligue 1.

After the capital club's disappointing draw against Napoli in Week 1, Menez, who is fit after a back problem, wants to inspire a crucial win away to Palermo.

“It is a big game against Palermo and it is crucial that we win,” Menez told the Roma Channel.

“I'm expecting a hard battle but I feel good, even if the training sessions have been harder than they were in France.

“I knew Palermo when I was in France and they had important players like Amauri and the new team really isn't bad.

“However, we are going there to win and I want to get off to the perfect start.”

Menez concluded by briefly outlining his excitement at being able to contribute to this term's Champions League bid.

“The Champions League is a great competition with teams and players of the highest level,” the 21-year-old said. “It will be an important experience to play in the tournament.”

Roma midfielder Jeremy Menez insists he has no regrets at joining the Giallorossi, despite a miserable start to the season.

The French youngster was snapped up from Monaco but has suffered a baptism of fire at the Stadio Olimpico.

Menez's new side have misfired in the League and could be left on the brink of Champions League elimination if they are beaten by Chelsea this evening.

“I was ready to stay at Monaco, but I secured the move in the final week of the transfer window,” Menez explained to Mercato365.com.

“I didn't choose to leave Monaco, rather I chose to join Roma. You can't refuse a team like the Lupi.

“I decided to try and show my potential and I made the correct choice for my career.”

Menez could be handed a start at Stamford Bridge this evening with David Pizarro injured, but he faces competition from Matteo Brighi.

Menez considers Roma exit Tuesday 2 December, 2008

Roma midfielder Jeremy Menez has made a surprising U-turn and admits he is considering leaving the Giallorossi on loan.

The French youngster signed from Monaco at the end of the summer and was greeted with great enthusiasm in the Eternal City.

But Menez's involvement so far has been limited to four starts and seven appearances as a substitute.

The 21-year-old had previously stated that he had no regrets at joining Roma and no intention of leaving to secure first-team football, but things seem to have changed.

“I haven't made a definite decision and I will have to discuss it with my agent, but if I'm not playing regularly I'd rather leave,” Menez told France Football.

“I'd prefer to return to France because I know that world and I feel I fit in better.

“I would like to return to Paris, given that I am from there, but obviously I would be happy to play for Lyon or Marseille, although they seem to have the players they need.

“I want to be at the 2010 World Cup for France and in order to do that I must be able to show my talent.”

i know this would surface by the time we edge near january 09'.

its kinda shame he has great talent but maybe he inst our tye of player or maybe the kid still cant adopt life out of france unlike his countrymen.
