Panucci's 'Roma for life'
Friday 3 October, 2008
Fresh from his 100th European appearance, Roma defender Christian Panucci is ready to commit the rest of his career to the Giallorossi.

The 35-year-old Azzurri ace has played for Milan, Inter and Real Madrid but his spell at Roma has dwarfed those elsewhere and he made his 100th European appearance against Bordeaux on Wednesday.

Since joining Roma in 2001, Panucci has made over 200 appearances and intends to extend his contract, which expires next June, so he can finish his playing days in the Eternal City.

“Panucci is a great professional who loves his job,” agent Oscar Damiani told Romanews.eu.

“He works with enthusiasm and he has an innate class. Panucci is a mixture of work, sacrifice, passion and natural ability.

“Christian knows how to be in the right place at the right time and he has a knack for popping up to score tap-ins.

“I think he will finish his career at Roma and that is his desire. He is very tied to the city and the club.

“There shouldn't be any problems with renewing his contract and we will see whether things can be sorted in the next few days. But there is no rush.”

Panucci: We can rule Rome Wednesday 12 November, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roma veteran Christian Panucci believes the Giallorossi have the right attitude to overcome Lazio this weekend.

The Lupi are struggling in Serie A, while their city rivals have enjoyed an unexpectedly good start to the campaign.

Luciano Spalletti's men shipped a last-minute Cicinho own goal to draw 1-1 with Bologna last weekend.

“We are doing much better and we have made the best possible preparations for the game,” Panucci told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think the derby is a special game and we need to show enthusiasm to win and to get out of this tough moment.

“But we feel strong and we certainly aren't looking at the League table and crying.

“Just because we are below them doesn't mean that we feel inferior to them

“We had a tough summer and we weren't in perfect condition for the start of the season so it was difficult for us.

“Then we became a bit nervy because we had lost some matches, but we are a team that scores goals and we are ready to return to our best.”

a lot of talk from a lot of our players and the donkeys across town.i know it doesnt hurt to be positive, but in our situation, now isnt the time or talks.its time to prove it on the filed lads.then we can talk all we want.
