I honestly hope that Roma win the Coppa; they deserve a trophy.

If the ref's were simply just making error's, they would be universal, in that many teams would benefit from these "mistakes". However, 1 team has received the vast majority of these "error's". Coupled with their actions during the past 2 season's, any level headed fan can only come to 1 conclusion.

Inter gained the most point's from ref mistakes, and guess which team lost the most points because of ref "error's"?

As far as Im concerned, Roma are this year's champions, and every fan Ive spoken to thinks the same.

The amount of wasted time in a game is incredible. Games are only approx. 45 minutes of actually ball moving and the rest injuries or stopped plays. So as you said, why not implement video reply on certain goals. I think game needs to evolve and get into the 21 century.

There are many things the league can do to ensure accuracy in calls. Either add an additional referee, institute video reply, coach to "challenge" a call like NFL , use the computer chip ball (which i think they did in a tournament recently). When a team spends 100 millions Euros like Inter, or 50 million like Roma, they deserve to have the correct call. I don't think fans would mind sitting around for a couple minutes for an instant replay of a goal...we have to wait when a player gets "injured" or when a player runs across field to celebrate a goal.

cheers to both of you, those are great posts.

Azzurri nailed it right on the head with the ref calls..there was even a few of them in the parma game...there were 2 questionable fouls in the box late in the game when parma was down 1 and if they would have gotten a pk the could have scored...causing them not to give up, giving them at least a tie...and roma would have not given up either knowing the outcome of the parma inter game.

Dave your spot on to. Its time to step into the 21st century...refs are making more bad calls then ever before. there needs to be some video replay or something...name one other professional sport that doesnt have that....none..even basketball has it for christ sake

Ofcourse not.The winners gloat and go around as if everything is ok,only when their team actually wins it.While the others go about and say hey listen up shit aint right, you know it but just dont give a fuck.

Nothing ever changes...aside from whom is doing the winning now and who is doing the bitching.Im not surprised. We've talked about this from the beginning with regards to refs.Nothing has changed,as Jager said.

If anything it's got worse.

It's quite ironic in a way.

I think the goalkeepers should also have a more limited role. i don't think the keepers should be allowed out of the box under any circumstances and defenders playing the back to the goalie should be considered "time wasting" and result in a yellow. Similar to the NHL with the puck over the glass or standing behind the net.

The game needs more goals...

I think the FIGC should switch sponsor's.

Alot of people seem to forget why Guido Rossi was forced to resign.

Serie a was reformed, remember? There should be less "errors", not more.

Too much.

You're messing with the fundamentals of football and we get enough of that off FIFA and UEFA as it is.

More rules doesn't necessarily make the game better, just keep it simple. Look what happened to the offside rule.

I just think that the game needs to be altered...at least go to a 2 man refereeing system or additional linesmen.

But, technology must make it's way into the game.

wow....guys lets talk about why roma went down hill and leave the refs, errors and technology in thread reserved for as "what fifa or whom ever it may concern need to change to make football better"

now no offense now just meant it as a joke but yes some of the points u guys pointed are true.

now back to roma.

why we went down and if anything is comfort we went down but we didnt crash.we had a safe landing in fact.we had one of our best post scudetto seasons to date.coming close on the title and challenging on equal footing in European games.

yes we did add depth but dave was right on the point we didnt solve the prob but instead just added the numbers in hope that would solve some thing

but it did produce some solution in terms of juan and cicinho.thats the only 2 players that have carried our team along wth the other lads from the previous season.so to speak we still lack in depth.

now injuries/suspension or best to say the MIA's, cant say we are not affected but wch team in this world isnt??so the main question how we adapt to it.and frankly saying we didnt come out in flying colors in this particular test.

for one we cant seemed to fill the gap left behind by our key players when they got injured.the ones that came in for them also was more of like an A.C current.they turn on and off frequently.

now yes totti was injured more this season then the 06/07 but i wont say that is one of the reason we have lost out on the title.we need to learn to accept he isnt young any more and he isnt going to be there for us much longer.

we have revolved around him in the past but this season we have proved we can over come that.even he is to be wth us for the next few seasons(wch i do hope he can since seeing how we over burned him this season leading to his latest major set back)but spalletti needs to learn how to utilize him now.its like having anew born in the family all over again.nursing him so that we can utilize the full potential of our near retired warrior.

well now to refereeing decisions.well not much to say as i always point out no point in blaming other ppl for our own misfortune, so thats all there is to me on that part

Last season we said that we will go for the kill after we finish 2nd and we did just that this season.only we just missed by a fraction on the target.we chased inter hard and long.we were on their heels and were their shadow up until last 90++ min of the last game and that surprised me most.

taking from what joel posted, we do have a good core and now its even better wth some of the players we had acquired this season, so wth another few more to strengthened out we could better our own success thus far next season and im confident on it.

Its almost amusing seeing Juventino complain about officiating after twenty years of Juve bias and calls going their way.

And before you bitch and say it aint so....I"ve been watching calcio, MUCH longer than you.

With all due respect. So I take everything with a grain of salt.

Roma fans I will accept the complaints, but Milan and Juventino who have virtually controlled Serie A since the begining of time, seems a little bit over the top.

Next season inter will finish third or fourth, behind Roma and Juventus...then I can complain about the bias officiating.

Maybe next season Inter will feel the same punishment from referees that Juve felt coming back from B.

Probably not.

Serie A/ L'Osservatorio sugli errori arbitrali: 52% di partite falsate. Milan e Juve penalizzatissime - Affaritaliani.it

Wait till the result's for the full season come out. Although labeling a debatable call right or wrong is partly a matter of opinion, the fact remains that more points were gained from debatable calls than any other year, including during Moggi's era. Furthermore, the fact 1 team were by quite a margin the biggest beneficiary proves something is up.
