I said before it was 70% for Inter to win...watching the Parma match, i become somewhat hopeful that Roma would pull it off. But, it was not meant to me. I'm extremely disappointed at the outcome...heart breaking.

Totti believed Roma could win...
Quote:
Totti: For a while there...
Sunday 18 May, 2008
Francesco Totti confessed for a while this afternoon “I believed we’d win the Scudetto.”
The Roma captain had maintained a stoic and superstitious denial that they had any chance of taking the title as the gap from Inter closed up towards the final round.
For an hour the Giallorossi had the title sewn up, until Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s late brace sank Parma to seal the Scudetto.
“For a while there today I really believed we’d won it. It’s a shame, but still a wonderful experience,” said Totti.
Despite the failure to capture a seemingly impossible trophy, thousands of fans flocked to Fiumicino airport to welcome home the squad from Catania.
“It is great to see so many fans celebrating the squad. It means the team and the fans are a single entity.
“We must thank everyone for this season and now we still have the chance to win the Coppa Italia.”
It’s set to be a battle royal on May 24, when Roma take on Inter for the Coppa Italia Final at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Unlike previous editions, this Final will be a one-off game to decide the trophy.

Conti bitter as well...
Quote:
Conti: Catania was a war zone
Monday 19 May, 2008
Roma assistant Coach Bruno Conti is furious with the way his side were treated in Catania yesterday.
The Giallorossi’s title dream died as they were held by Catania, while Inter beat Parma.
No Roma fans were allowed to travel to the Stadio Massimino for fear of violent clashes, but Conti believes that the scenes in Sicily were still unacceptable.
“There was an indescribable atmosphere yesterday,” he lamented on Centro Suono Sport.
“I don’t want to cause controversy but the powers that be need to look at that.
“The window of our coach was broken and we were spat at and insulted. You can’t go from the hotel to the stadium without a huge escort of cars.
"How can you play a game of football when you think that you might not be able to leave the stadium?
“What is this, a war? We’re supposed to be talking about a sport. I’m worried about the future of calcio for the children who come to watch games. Something has to change.”
While members of the Lupi camp, including Daniele De Rossi, chose to hit out at the refereeing this season, Conti opted to finish his interview by praising Roma’s efforts.
“Everyone saw what happened during the year,” he stated. “But I don’t want to talk about refereeing controversy.
“I want to praise the lads and Luciano Spalletti who did a splendid job and also to thank the fans.”

well both of them sould know better, well at least conti of al ppl should know better.
its a fools dream believed we would win it instead of hoping that we would.in this world we create our own fortune and hope none of our rivals to hand them over to us.if there is any one to be blamed its our own selves.
well all is over now.and we still can have a piece of triumph in the coming weeks

They are just bitter....as they should be. I'm bitter as well...no one likes to lose and Italians being Italians always have to blame someone. I remember in Euro 2004, Italy blamed their socks for giving them blisters.

well we didnt loose, but it does gave a bit of after taste, but comparing last season this was a medicine easier to take then see the team on top of you is far by a nation away.
bitter or not, both of them should think on how to improve, ppl wont wait on us and so do time.
