Totti to miss Uefa clash
Roma will be without influential forward Francesco Totti for their Uefa Cup clash against Villarreal in the Uefa Cup on Thursday.
Giallorossi coach Fabio Capello opted to give the Italy international the day off after deciding he would take no part against the Spanish outfit.
Roma are boosted by the return of Vincenzo Montella against the Yellow Submarines; however they will be without Cristian Chivu, Olivier Dacourt, Vincent Candela and Marco Delvecchio.
Montella has been out of action since November and is happy to be back after fully recovering from his knock last year.
"I'm happy to come back," said Montella. "We respected the recovery time, even if I did hope to come back earlier.
"I hope to play in Spain. My biggest regret is that in such a strong team like Roma, it's a pity not playing, but now I'm finally ready."

Great to see Vincenzo finally back. I wasn't too suprised about totti not being included in the squad. It's not worth the risk. Shame Chivu, Candela and Dacourt and supermarco aren't going.

Im not tryn to be mean or nufin but did Roma lose 2-0

I didn't see the game. From what i've read Roma were really bad and montella and Carew didn't do much. When cassano came on in teh second half thinbgs for Roma improved but no-one scored.
Totti should have gone. Villrreal of all teams, THEY'RE SPANISH FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

Bitter for not being in the CL? I don't buy that...UEFA cup is important.
The real sad thing about it, is that you tarnish the competition with type of attitude. Villareal victory is tainted, they did not beat the Roma side, because a Roma side without Totti, is not a Roma side.
This race for the scudetto, has Capello sleeping on pins and needles. He needs his team, going at 100percent, and the fact that Milan have not dropped points, in the last 10 games or so, is not good news to him or his UEFA cup aspirations...in terms of fielding a strong team or not.

no i wasn't being serious.
the thing is the team that played on thursday wasn't THAT bad a team. Chivu, De Rossi, Candela, Totti and Del Vecchio were all out and montella and Carew didn't link up.
