UEFA Champions League FINAL 2009 Home: A.S Roma, Italy Hosts
well as many know already the 2009 season of the cl final will be held in roma.so this is tribute thread to it.il kick offf the discussion wth an article:
Quote:
UEFA issues Rome warning Monday 31 March, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rome could lose the right to host the 2009 Champions League Final if there are violent scenes at tomorrow’s Roma-Manchester United clash.
The last two times the sides have met at the Stadio Olimpico, there have been violent clashes outside the stadium and there were also injuries before Roma’s last 16 game against Real Madrid.
Rome was awarded the Final in a meeting of UEFA’s Executive Committee last Friday.
Certain groups in Rome have a reputation for causing trouble and UEFA could move 2009’s showpiece event if they feel the supporters won’t be safe in the Eternal City.
“If tomorrow at Roma-Manchester United there are incidents outside the stadium as happened against Real Madrid, where people were stabbed, we will have to reconsider the decision to assign the Final to Rome,” UEFA spokesman William Gaillard is quoted by the ANSA news agency.
Such a decision would also be a disheartening sign as Italy campaign to replace Ukraine and Poland as the host nation for Euro 2012.

If Fiorentina and Milan continue to win and Juve slip up, Juve may not even get CL action next season.

We'll be fine, we've got a fairly easy run-in.

aye its great to see them back.Headlines will mock them a bit but they've got a good mentality.A winning mentality something we desperately need.
2009...in the Olimpico...I want liverpool in the final. You heard it hear first (no copyright infringement from Totti ).

If an Italian team other then Roma of course, is in the CL final....Totti will go mental!!!
I don't think Totti could sit in the Olimpico and witness Juve in the final, playing on his turf.

milan???crap milan out.they are no where near to their former glory in europe nor back in the peninsula.
im putting my money on juve and fiorentina next season besides my team roma for italian teams that might to do well in europe.
look at viola in the uefa cup they have a clear and very good chance of reaching the final.

Never count Milan out...they ave deep pockets and if they bring in Ronaldinho and Sheva...then they will be considered favourites as every other top team.

Juve will get a tough group because of missing the CL for the past 2 seasons. Ill be happy if we make it out of the group stage.
