24 is still young my men, besides who needs foot work when he can bang in the goals at an alarming rate wch we need most.so far we already have some of the talented creative players and can do wonders wth their skill but lack the killer insticnt of a striker.klaas brings that killer instinct in front of goal and is some one we can use.

Roma's De Rossi anxiety Thursday 24 July, 2008

Roma are nervously waiting for news on midfielder Daniele De Rossi after the Azzurri star suffered an injury in training.

The homegrown talent seemed to be in pain after tripping while on the ball and went down clutching his ankle.

The Giallorossi’s doctors attended to De Rossi and advised him to leave the training pitch.

The 24-year-old is set to undergo tests later this afternoon to ascertain the extent of the damage.

Coach Luciano Spalletti will be hoping that De Rossi can shake off the problem to feature in the Super Cup on August 24.

Francesco Totti’s chances of facing Inter in the annual season opener are 50-50.

Er Pupone has been training alone with physiotherapist Vito Scala but was absent from Roma’s session today.

Totti racing through recovery Friday 1 August, 2008

Francesco Totti is “a month ahead of schedule” in his fight back from a devastating knee injury and could be playing again in two weeks.

The Roma captain tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a 1-1 draw with Livorno in April and had been told he would be sidelined for around six months.


However, he has been working hard and the latest check-ups showed excellent progress.


“He is a month ahead of schedule,” confirmed Professor Mariani, who performed the operation.


“After the first gradual start to the rehabilitation process, it is now time for the athletic phase of recovery.


“It is here that the fear begins to take hold and you can only overcome that by playing. I told Francesco I didn’t need to see him anymore and I am handing him over to the fitness staff at Roma.”


It is excellent news for Totti, who at this rate could make his comeback in a friendly match against Frosinone in two weeks’ time.


It is entirely possible he could feature, albeit as a substitute, in the Italian Super Cup with Inter on August 24.

some good news wth il capitano.1 month earlier i like to see him not on the pitch earlier but train in that extra 1 month gained.just to make sure its fully healed, and to prevent any niggling stuff.thus avoiding and stop and go situation when he finally makes to the field.

Totti in doubt for Palermo Thursday 4 September, 2008

Talismanic Roma skipper Francesco Totti is unlikely to return to action in time for the Giallorossi's Week 2 clash against Palermo.

Totti has been struggling with an ankle problem throughout the summer, but he managed to feature in a friendly against Frosinone last month.

However, the 31-year-old only came on in the 86th minute of the Italian Super Cup and had to watch the 2008-09 season begin at the Stadio Olimpico.

The capital club missed the inspirational influence of Er Pupone as they could only muster a 1-1 draw against a 10-man Napoli side on the opening day.

Reports suggest that Totti is losing the race to be ready for September 13's testing trip to Palermo's Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Simone Perrotta and Rodrigo Taddei are also doubts as the pair continue to work separately from the rest of the squad due to injuries.

First-choice goalkeeper Alexander Doni should be available, but his compatriots Juan and Julio Baptista may miss out on the trip to Sicily.

The Selecao duo will only return from their World Cup qualification mission on Friday September 12 and Luciano Spalletti is expected to leave them out to recover.

If Baptista is too fatigued to play...then put Menez, Aquilani, Cassetti behind Vucinic. and have DDR and David as DM. Maybe Loria will get a chance to play if Juan doesn't.

now now, understand that he is playing in a tough 2 game, 2 long travels, so dont go down on him like that.its not just a bus ride but a journey nearing 10++ hrs.
