[#8] Aquilani Thread:
He could be out for three months, it's a huge bow to Roma's title challenge.

True, and he started the season so well with that brace in the Italian Super Cup. In terms of Roma it'll mean that Pizarro, De Rossi and Perrotta will need to stay fit otherwise they're in serious trouble. As for the NT, well he made his debut the other week and I was hoping he was going to push on and gain more experience, this injury won't help.

Roma are used to it by now. They have been in worse injury situations. They can always strengthen their squad this January with the CL cash they have made.

I'm not sure about that, their financial situation is quite bad.
They've got that French player as well, Faty, but he's inexperienced and not as creative as Aquilani.

Absolutely....Roma were in much worse shape then this earlier on. Obviously, Aquilani 's injury is a huge blow…but with Mancini, De Rossi, Perrotta, Taddei, Pizzarro, we can fill the void. With that said, if any of those go down with an injury .(Knock on wood) then we are in trouble. Luciano Spalletti is very resourceful, he will play with Totti behind Montella if things get worse! We also have Rosi, Faty, who can make a cameo appearance if needed!

Rosi has really impressed me this season, he's going to be the next big thing for Roma.
I believe he was called up to the U21's as well.

faty is also injured along with ferrari...martinez is injured as well i believe. vucinic is slowly regaining form and montella is nearly back to being fully fit. i say one injury to our starting line-up **cough chivu cough** and we're screwed. in terms of the CL cash...most likely we wont spend money this january. unless its for bench players.

Ah yeah I forgot about Ferrari, he's out until the New Year.
How long is Martinez out for?

All i know is that a couple weeks ago i read that he was training with the team. That could mean he is working out with trainers or back with the team. For some reason the media haven't been following his progress. Here's some info...
Quote:
27 gen 07 La giornata a Trigoria
Allenamento di rifinitura oggi a Trigoria, alla vigilia della 2 gara del girone di ritorno, Roma -Siena, che si giocherà domani allo Stadio Olimpico. La squadra ha svolto:
riscaldamento, possesso palla, schemi, esercitazioni sui cross e, infine, partita.
Hanno lavorato a parte Pizarro, Defendi, Mexes e De Rossi. Ancora lavoro differenziato per Martinez, Aquilani e Freddi. Totti ha svolto lavoro 'a secco'.

He could be back sooner than expected then and at least he's training again.
