[#9] Mirko Vucinic Thread:
Just as he was starting to get some real playing time, he gets injured again. I think Roma made a huge mistake in signing Vucinic, as they knew he was already injured when signing. He's a tall center forward, that had a great season last term...but has had some unfortunate bad luck with his health. I feel bad for him! Hope this article is correct with a replacement!

He's had knee problems before so it's no surprise really.
You should definitely make a move for Tavano in January now.

That's a little harsh, but is true...his knee is causing him to be a major dissapointment and Spaletti keeps defending him

I think it's only a co-ownership/loan deal anyway.

I didn't mean anything against Vucinic...he's a good player, but i think Roma made a mistake in signing an already injured player. Doesn't a player have to pass a physical prior to signing? I don't understand how we could of signed him if he was injured?

Like I said I don't think you've signed him permanently so the club were obviously showing a bit of caution.

The only thing you can say is that he's still young so there's plenty of time for him to get fit and find his form again.

[#9] Mirko Vucinic
Don't hold your breath Vucinic...he has been a disappointment this season...but as he said injuries have been a key reason why. We'll see what the future holds for him.

Vucinic wants Roma future Tuesday 27 March, 2007
Mirko Vucinic has urged Roma to complete his transfer from Lecce at the end of the current campaign.
The striker joined the Giallorossi from the Via Del Mare outfit last summer on a loan deal worth £2.2m and the capital city club have an option to buy in June for a further £2.5m.
“I am pleased with my performances so far and I am finally getting back to my best shape,” said Vucinic on Tuesday, having returned to Rome following international duty with Montenegro.
“I like it here as this is the club I had been dreaming about for so long and I hope I will stay,” he added.
“It is now my objective to win a place in the first team. When you take into account my previous fitness struggles, I am sure I can do even better.”
Vucinic has spent much of this season on the bench given Luciano Spalletti’s insistence on using a 4-2-3-1 formation with Francesco Totti as a lone striker.
“Will Spalletti field Totti up front next term too? I can only train hard,” responded the player. “The Coach is the one who makes the decisions.”
Roma will host Milan on Saturday evening and will then play the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Manchester United next Wednesday.
“Milan are a strong team and Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world,” continued the youngster.
“As for Manchester, they are doing well in Europe and in their own domestic League. However, no one gave us much of a chance against Lyon either…”

He still doesn't look quite as good as he was before his injury.
He needs more games really.

He's slowly starting to re find his form, but hi, it's already April...Roma should gamble on his health next season. He should move to a small club where he can play every game!

I think that's what he needs, I really can't see him being a starter for Roma.

I didn't have high expectations when he came over. Especially when he was injured. Stupid Roma for bringing him in injured. They should of pressed for the Udinese duo...hopefully history doesn't repeat itself!
